I'm watching it now and I have no idea what's going on since I just jumped right into it. Too bad it's not like the old days of G Gundam, that was fairly easy to jump into...

Eh, more or less, but it did have more in depth plotlines at points, but it was still great, but then again, it was my first Gundam series, just like how the Ninth Doctor was my first Doctor (Doctor Who) and now I can't stand his replacement, maybe it's that effect but in Gundam...

It was very much the OMG SUPER ROBOTS portion of Gundam. Gundam 00 and Wing and so forth are all very serious and deep in contrast.

Never saw Wing, only saw about 1 and a half episodes of 00 so far, saw a chunk of SEED, except Cartoon Network really screwed that season in the US, but SEED was great.

If you enjoyed SEED, then you'll enjoy Douboro and Wing.

SEED was a rather dumbed down update of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, with much of the first half being taken practically verbatim from the original series--and the fact that the intelligence of the show was definately taken down in order to appeal to the youngsters more. While I enjoyed SEED myself to an extent, it is still one of the most tame examples of Gundam in existance.

Whereas Gundam 00 takes on the interesting enough concept of using Armed force to erase armed force permanently. A War on war, so-to-speak. From there it evolves into different takes on terrorism, and war effecting the civilian population--and what you're willing to sacrifice to change the world.

My personal favourite, Gundam Wing, deals with the concepts of pacificism in face of war, and the concept of honor on the battle field. Including (A first for any Gundam series) the introduction of unmanned suits called Mobile Dolls, forcing the issue of drones over human lives. Something which is showing up to an extent in 00.

I'd highly, higly suggest you watch both Gundam 00 and Gundam Wing, but make sure you also Watch Endless Waltz--it completes the Wing Story, and completes the circle of pacifism.
