If friends come over/ you like playing online with people that scream in headsets go for the 360. It's the middle ground between A Wii [for multiplayer] and a PS3. I heard they break often or something?

I'd go for PS3 though, they have some good 1 player games, and PSN for Downloadable games. [Wipeout HD WANT]

PS3 = Graphics

360 = Online

PS3 has PSN,

And from what I heard it's free, right?

[-The Alchemyst-]

Yup.

I'm leaning to the PS3 side since of the RRD for the 360...

Red ring of Death?

Yea, dunno how common it is exactly, but I heard it was pretty widespread.

PSN = Free = Free Games [WIPEOUT HD]

PS3 = Better Graphics [Get Folklore]

PS3 = Blu-Ray [Not a major Pro, but meh]

Yeah, my cousin got it the other day. =/

Hmmm, I think the PS3 will be my choice.

PS3 - Better graphics? They're basically even in that respect and considering that he 360 has the more powerful graphics card...

Anyway just choose on the games you want. They both have decent online, they both have good graphics and while the 360 used to be unstable they have apparently fixed that now so it shouldn't really matter. :P

I personally prefer the PS3, but if the games you want are on the 360, get that.

Whichever has the games you want, you should buy.

If you're cool you'll get a 360. :P Nah, go for whichever you think has the games you will enjoy more. But let me add that 1) PS3 and 360 graphics are nearly identical. Neither has the clear advantage. (360 has better lighting) 2) The Red Rings of Death pandemic is pretty much resolved now. You should have no problem with a new console. If you do, you probably set your 360 in a bad place. 3) Even though Xbox Live is $50 for a year, that's less than 14 cents a day. Besides, you'll spend $60 for a game anyways. 4)Blu-Ray movies are like $30. 5) 360 has NETFLIX!

1. It's been proven multiple times that the PS3 can pull of higher quality graphics than the 360.

2. The RROD is still happening to people with newer consoles. One of my friends had theirs RROD for the 3rd time last month, and it was only about 6 months after their second RROD.

3. PSN is free and is nearly as good as Live now. And if you want your 360 to be wireless, you have to buy a $100 adapter for it.

4. 360 can't even play normal movies, you need to buy a HD add on for it.

5. The PSN allows you to download or rent blu ray or normal movies off of the Playstation Store.

Thanks, guys for the comments. I'm pretty much still on the middle on both consoles, I'll definitely look back at this when I make my final decision. :)

1) All of the comparisons of cross-platform games I have seen have not dictated a clear winner among the consoles.

2) The 360s that are sent out are refurbs, from what I understand. Like your friend, I'm on my third Xbox360. The one I have now has worked flawlessly since March of 07. Plus, 6 months ago the new chipsets weren't out.

3) I can't really argue against the quality of PSN since I haven't played on it. I hope you do the same if you haven't played on XBL much either. Plus, an ethernet chord costs like 5 bucks to make or buy.

4) Uh...all Xbox360s play DVDs...even without a hard drive.

5) Then why buy the physical disk? If I can download a high def movie there isn't much use for an on board Blu-Ray player is there? And downloading isn't quite as simple and easy as streaming movies.

I'm on my first PS3. Just goes to show how awesome it is.

Heck, I am still on my first PS2, and I had that since the day it came out.

If you have to replace a console a couple times for the same problem, that should say something about that console.

That I play it so much I keep breaking it? :P

Back when RROD was a huge problem, I'm sure it would have affected someone's choice on which console to buy. But nowadays, it shouldn't have any influence because you probably won't get a RROD. Even if you do, you'll be without a console for maximum of 2-3 weeks. If you can't live without your Xbox360, then bygolly you probably shouldn't have one. Besides, its not the hardware that makes a console fun, its the games.

I don't have a PS3, and I am not a stupid fanboy with a blatant hadred of the machine because I don't have it. I actually recommend it over a 360. 360 is cheaper though, but PS3 will get you a lot of good games and use, and also free online.
