You Want To Eat My What?

Well. That wasn't at all weird.

I'm sitting here reading some paranormal junk online.

I'm getting into it.

Then... from across the room...

"DIE, SPIDERMAN!"

"I want to eat your brain!"

"HIIIIISSSS!"

...

...

...Lol... this electronic, talking backpack that came with a Spiderman Venom figure I bought back in, oh, 1991 went off.

It has three buttons on top.

To make it do what I just described, you need to press the first button.

Then the second.

Then the third.

If you press them all at once, that doesn't happen.

So, I get up to find it.

It's just sitting there, out in a clearing on my shelves.

Nothing's touching it and the cats were all asleep, it actually having woken them up.

The air is not moist, so it's not like moisture or dampness made the contacts connect.

Go... figure...?

Last time something like this happened was around 1999-2000. My cat was known for stepping on this little clown noisebox that made an eerie laugh. She could step on it perfectly on the first try, studying the nose button, then specifically pushing JUST the nose to make it go off.

She died at some point... then one night soon after I'm there online talking to a chick I knew, telling her of how sad and lonely I was that she wasn't there anymore.

And then, from upstairs... "Hhhhhhhhhhhoooooeeeeeh hhhhhheeeeeeeeehhhhh heeeeeeeeeehhhhh..."

The batteries were long since depleted, but the box came on anyway. Again, no external factors seemingly involved.

NO idea why this box went off though.

Kooky.

Better break out the EMF detectors and thermal imaging cameras. While you're at it, an EVP session might help.

Dude, this year I might be coming into money.

You can be certain that those 2 devices (heck, a whole fleet of those devices) are at the very top of my list.

How come every time I'm reading something related to the paranormal, these things happen?

Emotion. Emotion places one not JUST into phase with such things to be seen and heard, but also alters them to become more tangibly associated with the "rest" of the world we live in. And alongside.

If you did it every day, you WOULD start seeing more and more.

However... it can be mentally taxing at times... ...especially when things start getting undeniable.

I don't know whether or envy you so much that I cry or desire to break into your house the day you get those.

Though, really, I think those go hand-in-hand.

*Starts planning for an elaborate robbery.*

Just the tip of the iceberg. Next year, I'm probably going to have, let's say, a lot of free movement in regards to buying things.

There's technology in my head based off such devices that I'm going to have custom-made.

If things go as I think they do, they might even become mainstream.

I need to look into patents though, as I'm SURE I'm not the first person to think up these configurations.

Maybe I should plan on breaking into your house multiple times?

Yeah, if you ever hear anyone inside your house or see someone who appears to be stuffing a bunch of equipment into a bag, it's a ghost. Seriously. Not me at all.

Eh.

Okay.

I won't argue anymore with you about this.

Just..look into the uncommon-but-possible ways an electronic device can go off, before you say it can only be supernatural.

I'm not saying I know anything about that, but I'm sure it's possible.

Or maybe it was LM, furthering his plan to convince you of the paranormal, that way you'll buy stuff he can't afford, then he'll steal it and sell it on the black market.

Am I really that easy to figure out? D=

Dangit, there goes that plan...

:P

Why do you even have such a thing?

What do you mean?

I bought it in, like, '91.

I waaaaas... math math math... like 18 or something. (wow.)

Granted, I HATE Marvel comics, but I loved action figures... even of dorky American superheroes.

They were "new", for their time. Like Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles was a breakthrough toy line in marketing and abstract sculpting, the Marvel lines were breakthrough in that the toys at times exceeded the dumb comics they came from.

In this case, it was Venom. I liked his character design. At one point, I had like 20 different versions of the character, the one with the sound chip being the first one I ever got. :D

(EDIT: These are the Venom figures I have left after losing a bunch during moves. It is FAR from all the ones I had before I stopped buying action figures):

I should like, sell these on eBay or something...

Well yeah, of course.

There's definitely some things I haven't thought of that might be able to set it off. Though wow... it's how it went off that got me.

I know what you're saying though. Out of all the "ghost shows" on TV I've seen, only 2 are sanely watchable.

You can't just have a perimeter sensor get tripped, get a disembodied voice on an EVP, see a glowing hot blob on an FLIR camera and go, "I have zee proofs!"

You have to get it multiple times. You have to get CLEARLY-defined forms. You have to get responses to exactly what you're saying.

And if I ever get the equipment I have planned constructed... I'm going to crack this poop wide the heck open.

That thing's at least as old as I am. Kinda sad, when I can call a backpack a geezer.

But then, it's the geezer's geezer backpack, so lulz.

I just have to LOL at myself for how blasé my reaction to this paranormal stuff is now. It's like, my reality bubble is so utterly exploded beyond any consensus-reality-based bounds of "normalcy" that nothing can faze me anymore. Hah.

I, too, am looking forward to some major improvements in the financial area, btw. And not just for me personally. :D Boy, at this time next year. . . who can possibly predict how the world will look? We're in uncharted territory already.
