Mesonak Posted February 26, 2009 Buy Skrall, or you will regret it. You can't afford to miss out on that shield and armor... Quote Link to comment
ChocolateFrogs Posted February 26, 2009 Buy Skrall, or you will regret it. You can't afford to miss out on that shield and armor... I know right? That armor is awesome! Um...what do you mean "the color will wear off"? -CF Quote Link to comment
Neaku Posted February 26, 2009 This is not a legit argument, thus your rant is fale. Quote Link to comment
Kaymac Posted February 26, 2009 He means that the paint will wear off of the shield. Yes, the shields red parts are painted on. I bought the set, absolutely love it. You should get it, but don't just say it's terrible because of the shield's paint. Just keep it safe and it won't wear off. Quote Link to comment
JINZONINGEN 73 Posted February 26, 2009 There's many a silver painted panel I keep in their own plastic bin. I lie, that's what I SHOULD have done, instead of letting them bop around in with all the bricks... But yeah, it's not a reason to not get Skrall. Quote Link to comment
~ShadowBolt~ Posted February 27, 2009 It's just one piece... Just don't hit it with a hammer and you'll be fine. ~SB~ Quote Link to comment
ChocolateFrogs Posted February 27, 2009 I don't think I'd mind the paint rubbing off. Better for MOCing that way, without the red to have to work with. It is also for this reason I really hope they make his sword without the red at some point--pure black or something neutral. Really makes one go crazy. -CF Quote Link to comment
Bitter Cold Posted February 27, 2009 It's just the idea that if people buy the one with paint, they'll use more paint. DO NOT WANT. Quote Link to comment
ChocolateFrogs Posted February 27, 2009 It's just the idea that if people buy the one with paint, they'll use more paint. DO NOT WANT. Yeah, it's like Tuma. If I ever get him (which I don't plan on), the stickers are staying OFF. I don't think not buying a set because of paint will make Lego realize sales dropped because of paint. Lego will think it has something to do with the way it's built or the color. -CF Quote Link to comment
JINZONINGEN 73 Posted February 27, 2009 I do admit... I too would choose someone else over Skrall because of painted pieces. Again, just to send a message that paint on my figures is a big freaking NO. At least with stickers, Lego's not wasting TOO much money and I can toss'em straight in the trash no problems. No, no, you keep the stickers in case you can use it for a cool decal on a later MOC. (Granted, I have yet to do this, but maybe on a simple tile or something...) I'm actually half-tempted to brasso my Skrall's shield (once I get him) now.... -CF Quote Link to comment
JINZONINGEN 73 Posted February 27, 2009 ONE sticker I wish I'd kept was this BIG biodata all about Darth Vader's UCS Tie Fighter. I picked it up like 8 or 9 years ago at a Goodwill for something obscene like 20 bucks. So the other day I'm on the site where you sell Lego stuff... holy spumoni, people're selling the sticker for big bucks! Quote Link to comment
Bitter Cold Posted February 27, 2009 Heh, yep. 'Cause they wear off. Then you need them to make your set complete. >=( Quote Link to comment
