I've played the new Glatorian game quite a bit this weekend. I've played the shooter game only a couple of times without any real results, as I can't figure out how to use the controls effectively. (There's a bar and I click furiously, and it goes my way... and then it breaks and the Skrall has the ball. Wha!) The fighting portion is kind of fun, although I still have some problems with the controls. It seems that if you and another character pull off the same move at about the same time, they always win and hit you first. So you really have to try and hit them way early. I have had luck with a technique of hard-hitting them as they approach, and then quickly back up and let them approach again. This works on most characters, but Gresh and Tarix have this annoying habit of retreating and building up their heath whenever they get a hit, making it impossible for me to spin their life counters at times. (The Skrall does it too when he's on his last turn) Dodging the thorax is easy enough, but I cannot figure out how to parry. It seems that whenever I press the space bar, no matter at what stage of the attack, they get a blow through that knocks my health down a bar. In some ways, I wish Lego had included more instructions for how to play, rather than just the basic buttons to press.

But I have won alot of matches. For example, I got Tarix up to the fifth level and unlocked the Vorox, which I then used to get to the sixth level and unlock the Skrall. And as the Skrall, I played through all the levels and won every single match without a single loss. yes, the Skrall is certainly the best character for these games. (Although I did have alot of difficulty with him fighting Gresh and Tarix, mostly due to their quick-healing thing).

I'd talk about more, but I really haven't accomplished anything more this weekend, and I have a large homework assignment due today that I haven't started. :annoyed2: Plus, it's registration today, and when I finally find a CAD class opened, it fills up before I can even begin registering. And I know how people cheat at this; one of my friends signed up for the crew team at the beginning of the year, but dropped out like the first day of practice, deciding he'd rather focus on schoolwork. But his student status got changed to sports, so he like registers a week before other people. (And he's a freshman too!) In a few hours, I'll see if I can get into the other classes I want... and hope they don't fill up either.
