Color Scheme Thoughts?

I'm wondering how to do my Certavus' color scheme. Currently, I've got a majority of white over light blue with a strategic spattering of trans-blue throughout. I have used as little black as possible (next to zero) and I'm using a bit of gray.

However, I'm wondering: should I use something that I would actually associate with an ice Glatorian (like white and light blue), or should I do something completely different for uniqueness sake? I want to use white for sure, but what about the secondary of color? I thought about dark red, which I think would be super neat, but then I realized that I only own blue Glatorian heads, and seeing as I'm sold on using Metus' helmet as Certavus', I'm kinda stuck there.

My main gripe with using white and blue is that that is pretty much what everyone else is going to do (mostly). But at the same time, that's what I imaging Certavus as being like. He's mostly white anyway though...

Thoughts? :)

So far, I love the design (Toa Mata Custom Torso! :fear:)! I haven't built a toa sized MoC in so long, it's been pretty fun! ^_^

Use green for the secondary color. The shade depends it all. It looks beter than what you'd expect, and so far, nobody has used White and Green. I used White and Black, though.

Actually, I have seen two other members make their entries with white and lime green, and I gotta say, they are pretty slick.

Huh, I guess you're pretty stuck. Let me get this straight: You only own Strakk, and are planning to get Metus. Or you already have him. Correct?

In terms of making a cool MoC, I don't think that I'm necessarily stuck, but in terms of doing a unique color scheme I probably am.

 

Yes, I own Strakk and am planning on getting Metus soon (perhaps today). I'm getting him for his helmet and hopefully I can use that sweet snowflake for something...

 

How is your entry coming along?

Hmm...well, if your going with a White-Lime color scheme, it wouldn't look all that good with a Trans-blue head; I'd suggest getting a matching Trans. Lime head from Tarix or Berix. Also, here are some other color schemes I though of in case you change your mind:

  • White-Black
  • White-Dark Gray
  • White-Light Gray
  • White-Navy
  • White-Light Blue
I dunno, just thought I'd give you those; I went with a White-Dark Gray color scheme, mixed up with some Trans. Blue pieces and Black Axles and sockets.

Not when this is being canon, it isn't.

I'll probably just stick with white and light blue; I really like the look. I may try dark green, but I can't really see that working...

Have you considered trying white and purple [if you have enough]. It would be pretty unique I think, and lots of people like the purple [adding to the novelty of your design]. Good luck in the contest.
