Confederated Inter-Related Collaborative League of Epics

Once again I'd like to welcome everyone, now straight to more business.

The sixty-third article proposed by Talvak is as follows:

Talvak hereby proposes that within "The C.I.R.C.L.E. Universe" there are Kanohi known as Rethus (RETH-uhss), the Great Mask of Agony, which allow the user to stimulate various levels of pain within a target for as long as the user continues to concentrate.

Now, feel free to discuss this proposal in this thread and then vote.

All in favor vote "AYE".

All opposed vote "NAY".

The sixty-fourth article proposed by Ballom is as follows:

Ballom hereby proposes that within "The C.I.R.C.L.E. Universe" there are Kanohi known as Ruusan (ROO-sahn), the Great Mask of Agility, which permit the user to dodge almost any attack, though it can only dodge attacks the user is aware are coming, and only dodge one attack at a time.

Now, feel free to discuss this proposal in this thread and then vote.

All in favor vote "AYE".

All opposed vote "NAY".

The sixty-fifth article proposed by Talvak is as follows:

Talvak hereby proposes that within "The C.I.R.C.L.E. Universe" there are Kanohi known as Semack (seh-MACK), the Great Mask of Stamina, which grant the capacity to maintain continuous physical activity for an extended period of time, however mask usage ultimately leaves the user in a weakened state.

Now, feel free to discuss this proposal in this thread and then vote.

All in favor vote "AYE".

All opposed vote "NAY".

The sixty-sixth article proposed by Talvak is as follows:

Talvak hereby proposes that within "The C.I.R.C.L.E. Universe" there are Kanohi known as Theris (THEHR-ees), the Great Mask of Heat Vision, which allow the user to issue beams of thermal energy from their eyes for a short period of time, however mask usage temporarily damages the user's eyes and therefore prevents them from being able to see until they've had time to recover. The length of recovery time is dependent upon the duration of mask usage.

Now, feel free to discuss this proposal in this thread and then vote.

All in favor vote "AYE".

All opposed vote "NAY".

The sixty-seventh article proposed by Ballom is as follows:

Ballom hereby proposes that within "The C.I.R.C.L.E. Universe" there are Kanohi known as Tomaje (toh-MAAH-jay), the Great Mask of Heat, which permit the user to adjust the temperature of their body or absorb heat from any nearby source, in order to burn through objects such as nets or ice, however the mask power only allows for increases in body temperature, not decreases.

Now, feel free to discuss this proposal in this thread and then vote.

All in favor vote "AYE".

All opposed vote "NAY".

The sixty-eighth article proposed by Ballom is as follows:

Ballom hereby proposes that within "The C.I.R.C.L.E. Universe" there are Kanohi known as Yovan (YOH-vann), the Great Mask of Defense, which grant the user the capacity to increase their body mass and strength, in order to absorb attacks, however the mask power will fail if faced with too powerful an attack. Furthermore it is only consciously controlled and thus leaves the user vulnerable to surprise attacks.

Now, feel free to discuss this proposal in this thread and then vote.

All in favor vote "AYE".

All opposed vote "NAY".

The sixty-ninth article proposed by Ballom is as follows:

Ballom hereby proposes that within "The C.I.R.C.L.E. Universe" there are Kanohi known as Zalmex (ZAL-mecks), the Great Mask of Intellect, which allow the wearer to evaluate and solve complex problems, as well as to formulate better plans and calculate any target's weaknesses.

Now, feel free to discuss this proposal in this thread and then vote.

All in favor vote "AYE".

All opposed vote "NAY".

And with that said, I open this thread up for discussion on the various articles for the proposed enhancement of our group structure and joint storyline.

Please be sure to vote on all seven articles in this thread.

Also, note that this discussion and the corresponding voting will end at 1200 PST (Noon in the Pacific Time Zone) on Wednesday, May 20th, 2009 provided that at least 2/3 of C.I.R.C.L.E. Members have voted at that point.

Lastly, the C.I.R.C.L.E. Members will be notified of the results via the C.I.R.C.L.E. Results Overview & Discussion thread, however, when there are other blog threads where authors can vote on the proposals surrounding the details of C.I.R.C.L.E., that communication will still happen via PM.

Thanks.

UPDATE: Articles 63, 64, 65, 66, & 67 have all passed via "UNANIMOUS DECISION", meanwhile

Articles 68 & 69 have both passed with a total of "ELEVEN AYE VOTES TO ONE NAY VOTE" each

and the polls are now closed.

Aye to all but 64.

They all seem good ideas to manipulate in the future, but the Ruusan seems essentially like the Calix. I say Nay to it just due to that fact.

Aye sounds like an evil mask

Aye, though I agree it sounds too much like the Calix

Aye

Aye but giving a Toa a Makuta power seems like it would go against there code

Article 63: Aye. It sounds pretty good, and makes much sense.

Article 64: Aye. I'm fine with it now that I re-read it. Sorreh, Ballomess.

Article 65-69: Aye. Adn I must say, Ballomness, you're filling up the C.I.R.C.L.E. Article Table quite quickly.

P.S. My internet's been out and BZP has been out for every time I've tried to reconnect.

Aye to all stated articles, as before, especially those proposed by yours truly. :P

And again guys, I've already made the Ruusan official within my own Terra Nui epics. If you guys don't want other Toa in our CIRCLE universe to wear Honiara or Ruusan, that's fine. But please don't deny them to my own Toa who I gave them to in the first place. Give me a break here. :(

Oh, and the Ruusan varies greatly from the Calix. It is controlled only by concious thought, and works primarily for defensive purposes. The Calix has neither of those properties.

I vote "AYE" on Articles 63-69.

Again, these seven mask powers are each specific and well thought out, and I'm glad to see that per Toa Talvak's suggestion on Article 69, you've changed the name of the mask power description.

Also, please note that the Kanohi Great Calix works for any form of physical activity, where as a prospective Ruusan would not help the user to jump across a massive chasm, nor assist in preforming any other type of non-defensive maneuvers. In short, a Kanohi Great Ruusan is more specialized and limited than a Calix. ;)

63- AYE-I like the idea, seems fun.

64- NAY- Seems like a Calix, maybe a little weaker. AYE- Calix makes you do things unthinkable, this is just increasing agility. I guess I should have seen this coming.

65- AYE- After discussion

66- AYE- Seems like a fun mask for reckless Toa.

67- AYE- Although can this also be considered a 'Mask of Ice Resistance'? I'm thinking of putting that in my epic, but if something is out there already...

68- AYE- How powerful is too powerful?

69- UNDECIDED for now. I think there should be a bit of a discussion on this, it seems really powerful, like a Makuta-only mask. NAY- This is basically how a supercomputer thinks, it's waaay too powerful.

65- UNDECIDED- Seems like the proposed 'Mask of Invincibility'

Actually, stamina is quite different. It's more like endurance, rather than resistance to harm.

EDIT: Aye to Article 63. Undecided on Article 63. I imagine this is a Kanohi that is not used by those that follow the Toa Code?

EDIT: Aye to Article 64. I see how it is different than a Calix, and I think this would be a good addition to the C.I.R.C.L.E Universe. Nay to Article 64. I think the Calix is an improved version of this proposed mask.

Aye to Article 65.

Aye to Article 66.

Aye to Article 67. Is there a limit to how hot the user can be? (wait, that sounds wrong... :lookaround:)

Nay to Article 68. It seems to me that it is a visually different version of a Hau.

Aye to Article 69. I was thinking of proposing a similar Kanohi.

Link to comment

"AYE" to Article 63. I'm personally amazed how much support there is for such an evil mask.

"AYE" to Article 64. The Matrix anyone? But why limit it to one attack?

"AYE" to Article 65. Another mask of my own design.

"AYE" to Article 66. Yet again a mask I proposed.

"AYE" to Article 67. Its limitations seem fun to work with. I believe the Tomaje has no limit to how hot the user can become, but I'd imagine the user wouldn't want to cause their armor to melt.

"AYE" to Article 68. Though Zorrakh does have a point, a Hau is capable of the same thing.

"AYE" to Article 69. Thank you for changing the name. Its power seems fine, but "Manipulation" doesn't really describe it. "Problem Solving" or "Intellect" better suits it.

Article 63: Aye. Awesome mask, although it should be rare. Reminds me of Jane from Twilight :P *gets shanked by twilight haters*

Article 64: Aye, sounds useful, although may I suggest a different spelling? It's fine and all, but that's the same spelling as a planet from "Star Wars" if I'm not mistaken.

Article 65: Aye.

Article 66: Aye.

Article 67: Aye.

Article 68: Aye.

Article 69: Aye.

Perhaps it should be changed to several attacks, but not too many. Otherwise, the user would be almost impossible to attack.

@ Cap'n Kopaka: Actually, you're right. I based the mask's name off the planet, although the name is pronounced differently.

Ah, I see. Since this is Matoran and that's a different language entirely, I suppose it's okay, but I was just throwing that out there in case you didn't know =)

Not really, the user would still be vulnerable to surprise attacks.

Undecided for Article 63 - Will Toa be using this power or is it something they'd consider immoral like the Shelek, Jutlin, Avsa, etc.? Aye if the latter, nay if the former. Aye to Article 63 now that the matter has been clarified.

All other articles sound fine to me. The Ruusan seems significantly different from the Calix. Although it does seem like in most situations you would prefer a Calix or a Hau, I suppose it works well in the absence of such masks.

Link to comment

Certainly it goes without having to be said that a prospective Rethus contains a mask power that most Toa would consider immoral.

Anyway, it is therefore my understanding that the "Undecided" vote from Auserv: Toa-Kal of Emotion shall be counted as an "Aye" unless otherwise restated.

I am not singling anybody out when it comes to voting. I just question some of the powers of these masks. Liquification seems like it would take to much of a toll on a being to maintain that form, plus it would give an unfair advantage to the wearer. No matter how you put it the great mask of Agility sounds like a powered down Kanohi Calix

Also I change my vote on article 64 to nay, as it shouldn't be used by Toa unless they exempt themselves from the code, like in the cases of Mistress Helryx, and Toa Lesovikk.

I'm guessing you mean article 63, as the Ruusan has nothing to do with the code . . .

Wait, I knew you weren't referring to the Ruusan, but I'm even more confused now.

What does having enhanced endurance have to do with violating "The Toa Code"? :???:

Furthermore, what does "The Toa Code" have to do with whether or not a Kanohi should exist in "The C.I.R.C.L.E. Universe"?

Nobody said Toa would be required to wear any of the proposed Kanohi.

Wow... I really need to get some rest. I am losing my freakin mind  I am making a slew of mistakes today *slaps face and grabs a monster energy drink*

Lets try this again and hopefully get it right this time shall we? *pulls up voting page for reference, double checks article*

Ah yes my mistake once again. Article 66 the Heat Vision mask doesnt seem like a Toa would be comfortable using this mask due to its afilliation with Kraata powers. Personally I coud see the Shadow Toa and other warped beings using this mask so to avoid further embarassment Im switching back to aye, and yes Regis this is my final answer.

Hey, it happens Erebus: Toa of Darkness, I simply don't want to tally anyone's vote incorrectly is all.

Anyway, I'll write up a future proposal in your honor specifying the "C.I.R.C.L.E. Kanohi" that the average Toa would consider immoral. ;)

The Rethus is strictly a Makuta mask.

All because the Makuta has a power doesn't mean that power is evil or that a Toa wouldn't use it. Otherwise, Kanohi like the Suletu, the Matatu, or the Mahiki wouldn't have been used.
