I have a project for english, where I make a "soundtrack" to the book we're reading. For two of the (at least) 15 songs, I need to have lyrics, which go to a familiar tune.

 

So basically what I need is a good, familiar tune that everybody will know, and that isn't some dumb song like "Mary had a Little Lamb," some song that's well-known and cool.

 

Ideas?

fair enough.. here's a list of songs

 

so cold- breaking benjamin

promise- silent hill 2 soundtrack

over and out- alkaline trio

samael- silent hill soundtrack (rather violent sounding song)

i don't want to set the world on fire- the ink spots

intro- metroid prime 2: echoes

use somebody- kings of leon

missed the boat- modest mouse

(and perhaps.. just because of the books name, maybe.. tom sawyer- rush)

I would think the songs you choose should be extremely influenced by the book you're reading. :blink:

 

Bohemium Rapsity comes to mind, or maybe a couple other Queen songs like "We Are the Champions" or "Another One Bites the Dust."

 

Any popular Beatles song. Or just take chart topping songs... if they made it that far then many people must be familiar with them.

I know you don't wantnus to pick something based off the book, but; Tom Sawyer by Rush is still an awesome song.
