Steampunk. That is the basis of my RPGC#14 entry. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Well basically, it's that future in the past. Think people in the eighteenth century or so with giant mecha, very modern guns, and victorian-style buildings, clothing, etc. 'Tis awesome.

Steampunk has a various definitions. Think of the industrial revolution in the 19th century, but a little more advanced and with more sci fi and fantasy influence. Some pople involve Lolita and Victorian style when cosplaying Steampunk.

 

Good examples of steampunk is Steamboy, Howl's Moving Castle, Final Fantasy VI.

 

And it isn't always about steam either.
