A 2002 Set In Stores?!?

Well, today I blew through 200 bucks of my graduation money to spend on LEGO Bricks. There's this awesome place about 20 minutes drive from my house that has sets from, like, YEARS ago, all for sale at about original retail price, and also has a MOCing area with a HUGE variety of parts (Best place ever).

I got a bunch of cool stuff, as one would expect, but what really amazed me was that they had...

*drumroll*

The BIONICLE Master Builder Set from 2002, new and sealed in box, last one on the shelf.

I was gonna buy it, but didn't have enough left if I wanted to buy the rest of Glatorian Legends.

But while driving back, I thought to myself, "How much could I have sold that Master Builder set for on Amazon.com, or something?" :P

:o

The Master Builder?

You've no idea of what you've passed up. (A chance to sell it to me, of course)

I know. That's what I realized in the car. :P

If I'm lucky, I may go back tomorrow and get it... I told my mom how much it may be worth, and she got exited, too.

You bought Glatorian Legends over the Master Builder Kit?

Get your head checked. PRONTO.

I didn't buy them yet... they're still only at TRU. I was saving the $60.

Like I said though, I hope to go back to get it.

Seriously. Legends will be available for the next few years. That Master Builder could be available never again ever.

I actually have to agree with Cags. I mean, that was a once-in-a-lifetime deal.

And what is said awesome place's name?

Not telling. I don't want any of you going to get it before me.

Sure, I will. That way, you can check it out if you're ever in town. :)

I assume this is a local store too?

Bah I wish I could go to Legoland. They always have a tent sale with a bunch of old stuff on super sales. ;-;

You actually didn´t buy it? O_o

Crazy person, now you´ll get back in the car, drive up there, spend all of your money to buy it, then send it to me. Okay?:P

I can't figure why it's worth so much. There aren't any exclusive parts, save the three dark gray gears, and those aren't really in high demand. This is of course, ignoring the fact that it's such a fun set.

I think it's just because it's so old...

What would be really, really beast would be if you would buy the set, scan the instructions, and upload them to a Brickshelf folder for use on the Wiki (even better if you had a subfolder for each individual model). Seriously, cache.lego.com has some really butt instructions, all grainy and uneven and stuff, much like every other instruction database on the web that has scans. It would be amazingly useful to have some better instructions to link to from the wiki (and, for that matter, to retrieve pics from for the wiki, which is currently using pics from a site with forums that we're not allowed to credit).

I would do that, but the item would decrease in value if I opened it before selling. :/

Dude, they ran out of those ages ago...

They haven't opened up the tent for a long time, either (unless I've just been missing it every time I go for the past few years).

As for the set, awesome find. This is the kind of stuff I dream about, and then wake up disappointed by. XD
