Raid On Vulcanus
So I got Raid on Vulcanus in the mail today (as well as the Revenge of the Fallen score, which is awesome). And I read through it.
Seriously, since the next book is a movie novelization, buy this one. It's the last true novel we're ever gonna get. Don't be cheap and just wait for spoilers. It's only five bucks, and it's more than worth it.
That said, it's one of the best books since Time Trap. It's weird, though; maybe it's because everything's completely new, but it's almost like reading a completely different author's work. Not saying it's bad, but it has an extremely different feel to it. Maybe I'm still partially stuck in the Matoran universe.
Regardless, it's really awesome. It's more than just a "main plot" book. It reads more like the side story books like The Darkness Below, Maze of Shadows, Time Trap and Legacy of Evil. Considering pretty much all of the sets this year are in it, except Atakus, Tarduk, Berix, Mata Nui and the vehicles, it doesn't seem like they're all crammed it. Obviously some get more coverage than others, but still, Greg does a good job fitting them all in without making it feel overwhelming.
The Legend Reborn preview is neat, and I can't wait to see how it transitions onto the screen. It was almost surreal seeing the term "Toa" mentioned in the same sentence as Glatorian after reading Raid on Vulcanus. It's a really awesome book, though, and I highly recommend you all spend the five dollars it costs to read it.
Also, Malum is made of awesome.
