Get A Publisher!

Actually, I do have something to post about.

When I reported on the 2010 book Greg's planning on writing, I tried to be as non biased as I could and just restate the facts, just as a way to get the news out to more people and such. I have my opinions on it, but I was keeping them to myself. Well, no more. (In case you're wondering, I'm stating them here, which is probably better than on the front page because nobody really reads this blog)

Lots of people are saying they don't want a publisher for 2010, so that way they get a free serial of the story online. Now, I'm all for free things on the web pages, but I really like having the books in hand. I don't mind dishing out some money, and I get to read it all as one without week-month long gaps between chapters. I dunno if I would've liked Raid on Vulcanus as much if I had to read each chapter weeks apart... but all together it really flows. It just really bugs me how many people are going "We don't want Lego to make money, we want more free story NOW!" But maybe that's just me being picky... if I were ten years younger, I might be in their shoes too. (Since I have money now, but I didn't back then)

Here's my idea... they released that one Takanuva story online, but you had to type in a code to get it. Why not integrate that in with the kanoka club, so that you have to purchase a set to have a chance to read the story. Therefore, it would be "availible" to everybody who can purchase a set, but it's not giving it away for free to the entire web. (You have to buy a Lego product first... or wait until someone on BZP posts the codes)

Overall, I hope they get a publisher.

Hmmm...interesting. But what about the people that don't really like the sets, but want the book(s) since they like the story? Or that most sets cost the price of at least 2 books?

I hope LEGO finds a publisher because I like the books better than the serials (you know why, Xccj, though admittedly I still have yet to go to my Borders and get Raid on Vulcanus).
