Lets discover the Arctic this week:

 

6573 Arctic Expedition

Description: Released in 2000 for a retail price of about 12 dollars, today it goes MISB for slightly more, about 20 bucks. Containing 111 parts and 2 minifigs, this set was part of the system arctic series.

 

My take: I like the minifig accessories in this set, like the blue globe and parka, though I am not sure why there is a trans green spider to be found in the arctic!

I still have those chevron stickers, and they still work. :D

 

And yeah, those fossils are silly. Might be kinda cool for an alien spider or something.

As it happens, they actually are meant to be alien spiders. Bloody dangerous ones, too, according to some old catalogue.

 

Anyway, I have this set. It fell victim to the Dlakii curse: it disappeared into my stock of LEGO, never to be seen intact again. Shame, because it was really quite awesome.
