No, this is not dead, merely down for the count, but it's back up and running.

Before I go in-depth with any of the characters, the controls and what they do should be explained.

Now, I'll talk about movement, basic attacks, and shielding (dodging and grabbing included)

Movement: Well, it's, moving. :P
Actually, there's more to it than that. When your press either left or right with whatever controller you're using, your character moves in that direction. If you move the joystick slightly, your character will walk. A little more, and he will do a fast walk. Push it all the way and your character will break into a run. While your character is in walk or fast walk, they will execute a strong attack when you press A, if your character is running, they will execute a dash attack.

When you tap 'up' or press the jump button, your character jumps off the ground. Press it a second time, and you execute a mid-air jump. Characters with wings can do several small mid-air jumps.

If you press 'down', your character crouches, making them more stable and will not be knocked back as far by an attack. Tap it quickly, and you drop through thin pieces of the stages called Platforms.

Attacks:
Press the standard attack button and your character goes into an attack animation. Press it multiple times with some characters, and you do a 'Standard Combo Attack'.

Gently tilt the analog stick (or D-Pad) in any of the four directions and then press the standard attack button to execute what's called a 'Strong Attack'. They're not as powerful as a Smash Attack, but are stronger than a Standard Combo.

Quickly mash the analog stick (or D-Pad) in any of the four directions and follow up that by pressing the standard attack button to execute what's called a 'Smash Attack'. These are usually your character's most powerful, but slowest, attacks.

By pressing the Special Attack button, your character does their 'Regular Special' attack.
If you press the analog stick (or D-Pad) in any of the four directions and then follow up by pressing the Special Attack button, you will do a special attack. Usually, the up-special makes you higher above the ground, but there are some exceptions, namely Meta Knight and Sonic.

You can also do aerial attacks, one for pressing the standard attack button, or you can do an attack in one of the four directions. Damage done varies, depending on the character. Watch out when you do a down-aerial attack (pressing down on the joystick while pressing standard attack), because it’s usually slow and will probably KO you if you are off the edge of the stage.

Shielding (shielding, dodging and grabbing)
There will be times you will want to block or dodge attacks, and the easiest (and pretty the only) way to do that is by pressing the shield button. If you press this, there will be a colored bubble around your character. Please note that the color doesn’t matter, the colors change depend on what player you are (if you are player 1, then your shield will be red, player 2 is blue, 3 is yellow, and 4 is green) or whatever team you are on in Team Battle. This will absorb almost any attack that you are hit with. Again, there are exceptions.

You will notice that the bubble starts to shrink while you hold the button down, or when your shield takes a hit. Don’t let it shrink all the way, or your character will be knocked out for a moment. The best way to avoid this is to press move the joystick to the left right, which will cause your character to roll in that direction, dodging whatever that would normally hit you. This is, of course, known as a dodge, and no one can hit your character while they are in a dodge. Another way to dodge is by moving the joystick down. While your character won’t go anywhere if you do this kind of dodge, it has a bit quicker reaction time to it.

Now that I am on the shield button, I will inform you about the grab, which is performed when your press the standard attack button while you are holding down the shield button. You can also perform a grab by pressing the standard and special attack buttons at the same time. If you successfully grab an opponent, they cannot move while they are in your grab. There are two options that you have: press the standard attack button repeatedly to hit your opponent, giving them a small percentage of damage per hit (1-2%), or press one of the four directions to send the opponent in that direction. The damage given in each direction is varied. Depending on the character that you are controlling.

Well, that’s all for now. I hope this has been informative for new players as well as moderately interested players.

The next subject I will talk about will be official and custom stages. I will talk about the different functions that are on the stages, and I will rate them by danger level. Guess which is the most deadly…

I personally always use the wii-mote. My best character is Ike. He is fast, heavy(hard to kill), strong and his recovery is great if you know how to use it... For example, when most people go to the far left or right, they attemt to use Ike's signature move, Aether.(Up+1) They just kill themselves. It would be alot smarter to use his side special(Left/Right+1) and end back on the stage. Plus he is very hard to get used to. I have been using him for almost a year and I have just become a master Ike-brawler... But just today I was at chruch in the 7th and 8th room doing brawl with a GCN controller as Ike.... I lost all 5 of my stock in the first 3 minutes. My point exactly.

My review of Ike:

Pros: Fast, Heavy, Strong, good recovery

Cons: Hard to get used to, not too easy on controllers you dont use

So Zorrakh, I must say, Ike is a very good choice for brawl.
