Not A Musical Update

Well, the prior version of this entry seems to have attracted little attention, so I'll amend it.

I've seen Bionicle: The Legend Reborn.

True story.

Also I'm not going to spoil it, but Matoro and Botar and Lhikan and Kodan are all alive and teleported themselves to Bota Magna to save the world from a gigantic Rahkshi made of protodites. With wings. And one of the Great Beings is named Gregfarshteyus. =O

I have not seen it nor do I have any intention to see it, but what you suggested is probably infinetly better than what actually happened.

Mmyes.

Hehe... I took that and made it into this:

I'm going to use it as my sig banner.

Hey you gotta remove that or reduce the filesize... it's over 100KB, it will be removed. ;D

Dok, whatever it is you're eating/drinking/absorbing through osmosis, the story team needs some badly.

I bought it last night. I hope it will be good. I expect it to be good. And if some of it seems a little childish, oh well. It's a kids' toy line, so if people are too stuck-up to try and enjoy it then there's no reason to act as though the essence of BIONICLE has changed. The BIONICLE story has progressed in a logical fashion based on its original concept, and there's no reason to assume BIONICLE could have or should have followed the path we expected of it as naive children.

I did recently finish the movie. It was... better than I expected actually. The beginning was just bad. It built up speed for the rest of the movie, and the quality was almost improving by the second until the Mata/Tuma battle which you shouldn't believe is as bad as everyone says. And the ending scene blew me away. Beautiful visuals, strikingly good score, and an uplifting sense of hope for the future of Bara Magna. Definitely worth it.

I saw the movie last night, and it was a mixed experience. The script was wonderful, the animation was wonderful, and the renderings were wonderful. The plot was also great, even though it was very predictable who the traitor was (especially after reading his dialogue with Tuma in EotS). Voices, too, were fabulous: one could easily picture Berix's lines from The Secret of Certavus read in that voice, Metus sounded just like the smooth-talker he's purported to be in story (he's always struck me as something like a used-car salesman, only more of a used-warrior salesman), and all the Glatorian voices were well-suited to their personalities.

But the transitions between scenes were poor and made the whole movie as though parts had been cut out. Once the novelization comes out I can evaluate whether this fault lies in the scriptwriting or the animation, but I'm leaning towards the latter.

Also I want a Click plushie. =3
