It Should Be Noted

... that this MOC has been painted.

Seems like there are lots of MOCs that I would have DQ'd that made it into the polls. I guess it's good I'm not a BBC staff, then. :P

I noticed that when I saw that entry. But who's really going to cry over one painted Rahkshi head, that makes a MOC that most of us have the parts for anyway, possible for someone who's doing the best with what they have?

There was also an entry where a MOC was standing with a foot on an Axalara thruster, which was clearly not a steed or vehicle, but it's not like it's some sort of cheating that's going to win the contest for them.

The BBC staff probably does their best to let things slip for the sake of good competition and everyone's fun. It's only when entries break the rules in objectionable ways do they need to step in.

That isn't how it's been in the past, is all. I've seen MOCs get DQ'd just for having a letter cover up a little corner of the MOC. Not saying that's good, or anything. Just a bit inconsistent.

Ah I see. I haven't experienced much oddness in the couple of BBCCs that I've seen, but I agree with you that inconsistency is annoying, because you don't know how far you can twist the rules to qualify your entry. Maybe this newer lenience will continue on in future contests?

It may be a painted white head, but it also may be a powder-coated actual piece. I think I saw one like that before...

Also, fairies are adorable.

The fact that they used Rahkshi-head chest armor on a Tufi Piyufi MOC is regrettable enough. The fact that they did so without even having the parts to do it properly is just pathetic.

But that's OK, because the MOC will surely be knocked out of the water by BCii's entry anyway (won't they all?).
