My Trip To Enfield, Or Why Steve Witt Rocks

Black Six

So at BrickFair this year Steve Witt told me I should take a visit to LEGO Headquarters in Enfield, Connecticut. Today I took him up on that offer and made the approximately three hour drive up. I got caught in some traffic thanks to an accident, but I made it there in one piece. We had a quick lunch and then went to the employee store, which is pretty awesome, since everything's pretty cheap. I had been talking to Steve about getting some prizes for BZPower contests and giveaways and he was awesome enough to offer to buy us some. So he and I started pulling sets off the shelves en masse as my jaw was dropping to the floor at how much he was offering to donate to BZPower. A little while and a few hundred dollars later I had this:

The bag that's not really full in the front is stuff I bought for me. The five other overflowing bags behind it are for you guys, so be sure to thank Steve Witt if you ever see him.

After that we talked a bit about the Ambassador program and some things I'd like to see and some ideas he had, which give me something to look forward to for that. I got to stop in and say hi to Greg quickly, and thanked him for all the questions he answers for you guys. Then came some stuff I really can't talk about. Some I think you'll like, some not so much. But I made sure that I let people know which was which so they can get some good feedback and hopefully make improvements in the future, because that's what Ambassadors do.

Later we went over to the model shop to see where a lot of the display models are made, the Buzz Lightyear one is pretty sweet in person. Finally I hung out with Steve for a bit more and got to check out some of the creations he's working on. The man can build, people. He just tends to be too busy reading comic books to actually play with LEGO bricks. :P

Then I got to drive back home with a car full of awesomeness. I'm glad I have plenty of room.

So once again Steve, thanks for inviting me up, thanks for all the sets, and thanks for helping to make LEGO the best company out there!

Looks like Mahri and Barraki, yes? I'm quite astonished by his generosity. I'll be sure to say thanks at BrickCon.

That may or may not just be what was on the top...

There's a Skrall in the third back, and a Spikit in the first bag...Will these prizes go towards all kinds of contests, or just BBCCs?

They'll go towards everything.

That is truly awesome. Steve Witt, I love you, even though I've never met you. And Ambassador Andrew, thank you for your dedication in braving the traffic to go all that way for BZPower.

This means that I'll probably start entering more contests.

Sounds like you had an awesome time though, which is what counts. ^_^

Oh good, I've been needing a car donation fund... well, you did say "everything." :P

You mentioned nothing about where the bags are going. This is important to know. :o
