360 Or Wii?

Kex

I dunno. I just dunno. I want to get one of them, but I don't know which. And no, both isn't an option. Now, if Santa would bring me that darned money tree that I've been asking for the last few years, then it wouldn't be a problem. Only thing is, Santa doesn't like me anymore... Apparently Dasher (or was is Prancer?) found something in the kitchen other than cookies and milk, and Santa wasn't all too happy about the present he got on his lap. But I really need to know...

360 or Wii?

I'm getting a Wii, but I'd recommend getting the 360 if you have the choice, and want something now. None of the really promising games for the Wii are coming out until next spring, and a lot of awesome games are upcomin' for the 360, especially some ones with different styles, not just shooters.

But of course, next spring one would probably regret the huge purchase on the 360 now that the games would be out.

Don't forget, Nintendo is all over 'cross-compatibility'. So you can play your Gamecube games on the Wii wile-u-wait.

Wii60 for the win!

Or more generally, Wii603. :P

360, definitely. Nintendo = bad graphics, childish games, and weird remotes that require way to much energy to use (why don't you just go outside to play sports for heavens sakes!).

Really Kex, just check out the games and decide which system will have more games you will want. Which system meets your gaming style. Both are "community" systems but their type of community is different. Wii relies on more local community playing and to know someone before you can become friends with them online. Xbox 360 is more online community centric, focusing on building up a community.

Well put Than. You can compare specs all day, but in the end it's the games that decide what system you get. If you're into Legend of Zelda, Super Smash Bros., Metroid Prime, Mario, etc. get the Wii. If you're into Halo, Gears of War, Fable, Oddworld, etc. get the 360. Or if you're obssesive enough about Kingdom Hearts, Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter that you're willing to spend $600 than buy the PS3. *meekly raises hand*

Whoa there partner, no need to get personal. I even took some offense on this, as I know a few Nintendo fan-'peoples' myself. I'll refrain from saying any more, but next time perhaps lightening the blow a little wouldn't hurt.

He does raise a good point though, if you're gonna play games where you actually have to move to do anything, just go outside and play sports.

And what if you can't go outside and play a sport? What if the weather outside is horrible? Or what if you have no one to play sports with? Or if you're just horrible at all sports, and like to be able to play them without being mocked? Or what if all of the above apply to you? *meekly raises hand again* Plus I doubt there are many places in the world where you can go and take up a real sword and start hacking down enemies. Just like any video game system, the Wii lets you do things in games that you can't do in real life. The only difference is that now it feels like you're actually ARE doing those things, instead of telling someone else to do them.

And yes, I'm promising myself this is the last I'll say on this topic. I do tend to get a bit carried away when I get into a debate about the awesomeness of the Wii. [/hugeunderstatement]

Anyway, that is why I believe you should get the Wii Kex. Even though it sounds like you've already decided to. :P Take it from someone who's played one. Swinging the WiiMote to slice down enemies gives a very satisfying feeling. And of course be sure to post up your friend code thingy if you get one so we can all pound on your Mii in Wii Boxing. :sly:

Well, someone obviously hasn't played a Wii. Yes, the graphics are not nearly as good as the 360 pr PS3, but the graphics are in no way bad. The best looking game on the Wii right now is The Legend of Zelda, and that is basically a Gamecube game with Wii controls. And supposedly, Wii is 2x more powerful than the Gamecube. And yes, while Nintendo has less-mature games than the others, there are quite a few good games that aren't concidered "childish." Oh, and your point about going outside to play sports instead of playing sports video games...why, then, are the EA Sports (Madden, Fifa, NBA Live, etc.) game titles so popular?

But yes, Than made the best point of us all. Get the one with the game you think you will like most. And you seem to like me, because you said you are going to get both a Wii and 360. Both have atleast one killer game. :P
