Depends on how fun the game is to play. I'm more willing to play a game that's insanely fun with sub-par graphics as opposed to a game with shiny beautiful graphics but dull gameplay.

Well where graphics are concerned, I guess new technology is better, but it has an unfair advantage of course. Personally I prefer artistic graphics over cutting edge tech.

But old vs new in general? They're both good. Old games can be just as entertaining as new ones (heck I'm still playing GBC Mario Golf).

Chrono Trigger and Super Metroid > Any Metroid game after and Chrono Cross (Cross was pretty cool, but Trigger trumps it)
