360 has better game selection, so that won the battle for me.

I couldn't pay $200 and not get any of the Halo games.

Oh I see!

Well, I prefer the PS3--I've heard the costumer service is more reliable, free Playstation network (you have to pay for 360's), blu-ray, and there will be a lot of good games coming out. Final Fantasy XII and XII Versus for one thing, also God of War III. There are a few more that slipped my mind...but there are some really good ones, even if they are not advertised as much as other console games.

But 360 does have a large selection of games now. Halo and Mass Effect are a must get. And it does work better with other microsoft products, like Zune. But I have heard almost everyone 360 has failed on them sooner than expected and then having a hassle with warranties.

Personally I'd want a more durable machine, over another that has more games. I don't own either, so don't take my word for it...just my few cents. I had plans to get a PS3 sometime this year, but I can't afford it for a long while.

Having had a lot of hands on experience with both consoles, I would buy a PS3 hands down. I have seen 3 XBox's die in one friends hands within two years, because him and his kids love to game. They even had all the cooling accessories, and it still did the red ring of death.

Both systems share most of their titles, and I find that I like the PS3 better. Metal Gear SOlid 4 is an awesome game, and only on PS3 too...

I am an oblivion and fallout nut, and PS3 has fewer glitches.

360 has Mass Effect and Halo (and COD for those who like it [i have never played it, lol]).

360 doesn't die nearly as often as it seems. You just hear more about it because the people with broken stuff are REALLY LOUD. My 360 is two years old and hasn't acted funny at all.

I'd recommend whichever has games you want to play more, though. I bought 360 'cause I wanted Halo. I've really enjoyed some RPGs on it too, like Mass Effect and some older ones like Jade Empire (made by the same people lol)(seriously, the fact that Bungie and Bioware have agreements with Microsoft and not with Sony is a major point for the 360 ).
