Rpg Contest
I'm really liking this new contest thing, I should have started it a long time ago. Instead of worrying about RPG requests all the time, there are just four blocks of time during the year when I have to work a little harder and organize everything. And it works out better for you guys too. The competition increases the quality of the entries, and you get to pick the ones you want to play. Win-win situation.
Concerning the voting, however, see as how we've had over a 50% increase in the number of entries since the last contest, there's probably going to be three rounds of voting this time, like in many other contests on BZP. The way it's going to be set up, however, is a bit different:
There will be three semi final polls, each with seven entries. The first poll will have the winner from each of the seven preliminary polls. The second will have all the second place winners and the third will have all the third place winners. This way, the third place winners don't have to worry about going up against the first place ones (just yet). But at the same time, we don't want all the top RPGs (first place winners from the Prelims) to get kicked out. So, after the Semi-Final round, the top five RPGs in the First Place poll will go onto the Final Poll, the top three Second place entries, and the top two Third place ones, for a total of ten entries in the final poll. I feel this is fair, as it gives a chance to good RPGs that may have been faced up against a really popular entry in the preliminaries, to at least get into the final poll. And remember, the top three RPGs get to be created and played by all of BZPower, so even at that point it will still be anybody's game.
Let me know what you think about this. I'm still open to suggestions, but like I said, I think this is pretty fair to all contestants.
See you on the boards...
