As many of you may have noticed, Electric Turahk has revealed what AHEM is and is making some false claims. First of all, the Naho thing was NOT for BNG but for AHEM. And what's AHEM?

 

This is AHEM (no, not a hippo eating mushrooms :P)

 

First of all, the name AHEM is completely gibberish and an inside joke from a while back. It means absolutely nothing. What's behind the name AHEM? The stories of the Toa Mangai and other teams.

 

We were discussing with Greg the possibility of getting minor canon things approved such as the origin of the Ta-Koro Guard or how Kongu met Ka. Simple things. It was going to be an episode series produced by the animators of BNG in their spare time (if they had any). Well, it escalated. Greg allowed us to send in a list of names to get approved by Lego so that we could work with him on their placement in the story, whether it be the Toa-Dark Hunter War or something else.

 

As Bionicle: Next Generation continued, we realized that an episode series was slightly absurd and moved to another idea (with the okay from Greg) to make an e-magazine filled with serials, short stories, and more written by the people of BZPower. That blog contest? Yeah, that's for issue #1.

 

The Naho thing? That wasn't just for no reason. lewathetoa and some others are making comics to go along with it and we needed Greg to approve those things so Naho could appear in the first few panels at least.

 

Now, I'm not completely innocent here. There were probably better ways to pull this off. For the Naho stuff we should have put up a poll, and after a discussion with Erebus, we will be doing that from now on. I'm checking with Greg to see if he could un-approve the Naho stuff so that we could have a poll.

 

The purpose of this was never to be a secret group project. However, we weren't going to put out there right away because we needed to make sure we had everything straight and organized. So, I'm sure where to go from here. That was going to be Saturday's project, figuring out how to organize everything.

 

In a nutshell, we now are getting approved names for Lesovikk's, Jovan's, Lhikan's, and Dume's teams plus other things like the species on Stelt, Axonn's species, and Ehlek's species. Names will probably be voted on to keep things fair.

 

This is the project of BZPower. Not of the BZP staff. Not of the BS01 staff. This is the project of the BZP/BS01 communities. Anyone can join.

So, just curious, but why do you even need it canonized just to use it in a comic? This is a fan work, which gives you the artistic liberty to make up the appearance of a character, right?

It's not a project of "BZPower"; it's a project of you and your group, who happened to be within BZPower. As you guys noticed, most of the OGD frequenters were taken aback at what happened with this random and haphazard canonization; those shocked were a mixture of BZP staff, BS01 staff, and the members of both.

 

In essence, it boils down to "you guys want this done - do the rest of us?". You can't claim to speak for BZP in its entirety, which also includes the staff (and the staff of BS01). And I, for one, do not want any of that done.

All of it. That's FAR too much canon to be decided. As Cholie said; why do you NEED to make all of this canon? It's a work of fanon, you guys can do what you want.

Greg normally only listens to someone like Swert, NtM or Erebus. Sometimes Dorek. Oh, and blog contests about short stories are allowed, making them canon aren't.

If you recall, we sent you a list of names to get approved by Lego for an episode series about various parts of Bionicle history. We're currently working with the Toa Mangai (using Muppets names for names we don't have yet ). We were wondering if you could confirm some stuff for Naho. Could you approve that she had a Huna and a warhammer. Is this acceptable?

For the list of names, do you have any preference to how we present the new names and story/characters who go with the names (that are all approved by you)? What I'm trying to say is, does it matter to you whether we do serials, short stories, episode series, comics, etc. to show the story (that we pass through you)?

1) With the names that get approved that we sent you, we are allowed to give names and backstory to the people on the Toa team of Lhikan, correct?

I, and a few other people, recently came up with some names for you to get approved and we have a few questions.

 

1) Were the BZP member-based names okay/allowed?

2) Can we send you a few more names before March?

3) Roughly how many names are you sending?/How many names have you come up with so far?

4) Are you sending any prefixes or are the ones we sent you the only ones going?

 

Other questions that may or may not be related to the approved names list that is being sent...

 

5) Since we're (hopefully) getting names, we were thinking about Jovan's team and have a question about the member with the Olmak. Was the Olmak taken from the Toa before or after he became a Turaga? If it's okay, we were hoping for it to be while he was a Toa but if you had something else in mind we're willing to go with that.

6) I PMed you earlier about this but I got a little confused. Are there any names at all left on the current approved names list?

 

1) I don't plan to send prefixes at this time because I don't know that I will have any need for them. I don't know how many names I will be sending, and as for the BZP member names, I will make a note to Legal of what they are and they will decide whether or not they are things we can use.

5) While he was Toa. Otherwise, it would be a Noble Olmak, not a Great Olmak.

Looking at the Bionicle World book and how Jerbraz, Johmak, and Tobduk were names based on the artists, we came up with some names based on people on BZP. We don't know if this is allowed so we included it in a separate list:

I doubt that the BZP names are allowed but I'll leave that up to you.

Well, we better have approved names earlier than end of summer, lol, or I am going to have a tough time of it. I plan to send the list out in March, so we should hear something back by sometime in April, I would think.

But really, I don't like that idea at all. Too much canon info, and by the content of the message, I don't think your stories will be canon, just SOME of the names (the ones that get approved).

I think we shouldn't have names for specific members, because that would be unfair to everyone else. I think those for BZP are okay as well as Greg ('cause you know, he's Greg)

First of all, we decided to hold it a secret because we want to make Greg approves every aspect of it.

Next, the stories are going to be canon. We will send a summary to Greg and he will approve it if he likes it. I can even show u some examples. Wanna see that?

Regardless, I don't consider any of it canon, whatever it was. Therefore, it isn't going on BS01.

Hmmm... while the names MAY be acceptable... depending on which ones get approved... I don't like the ideas of a circle of members writing canon story. That should be preserved for contests run by BZP, BS01 or the magazines.
