And A Partridge In A Pear Tree

Merry day-after-Christmas! I've had merrier, but this one was fruitful – or perhaps I just got more things I actually like than usual... My favorites being:

  • Brutaka
  • Vezon and Fenrakk
  • Umbra
  • Deep Sea Treasure Hunter
  • Striking Venom
  • Velika from Alsru!
  • Eldest
  • gift cards to Toys R Us, Target, and Barnes & Noble
  • Once and Over the Hills and Far Away by Nightwish
  • Dead Man's Chest
  • The Witches' Datebook, which should be much fun to read through...
  • Metaphysical tickets to go see Riverdance and Wicked!! Yaaay!
And some other things I was less interested in. So far I've built Brutaka, Umbra, and the Deep Sea Treasure Hunter, begun to read Eldest, and decided I want to use one of the TRU gift cards on Ehlek at least.

I would like to proclaim that Brutaka is awesome and very tall and the best use for Umbra is spare parts. Also that the Aquaraiders are excellent (judged also by the Lobster Strike, which I got last week as a belated birthday present). Great sets in both pieces and construction...

Finally (although first chronologically), BCii gave me an early Christmas present in the form of an awesome MOC of me! It's really great. Go check it out.

On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

Ooh, Once has some GREAT songs on it. Creek Mary's Blood is really cool sounding, and has a guest singer type guy, cause it's supposed to be a Native American-sounding song.

Sounds like ya got a good haul! I didn't bother with Umbra, he didn't interest me all that much. But yes, Brutaka is an awesome set.

Merry Christmas, ToM!

 Riverdance, eh? I hope you would enjoy it as much as I did. I still listen to the songs after nearly 10 years of watching the show.

And you sound like you got quite a good lot of loot! I'm tempted to be envious of you, but I remind myself over and over again about 'closet space'.

Since it's after Christmas, have a happy new year!

You definitely got more Lego Bricks than I did. All i got were the four '07 small sets.

Wait...Over The Hills And Far Away...Nightwish stole the name of a Led-Zeppelin Song!

nevermind. Umbra does look like little more than spare-part fodder in my opinion. And really, Umbra, Umbrae is a feminine/neuter noun. Shouldn't be used for a male character's name.

Eldest, eh. If you've read Eragon, Do Not See The Movie. Too short, and really innacurate to the book. Durza's still creepy, though.

The Witches' Day Planner? Sounds interesting. What's it about? I ask because I go through books really fast, and I'm always looking foor new stuff to read.

And yes, Brutaka is excellentius.

That's all I have to say

Gah, it's actually The Witches' Datebook. I didn't have it next to me when I was writing this... Anyway, it's just like any other datebook, except that each day lists the astrological sign of the moon and tells when the planets move into a different constellation, as well as the magical color of the day. And it often says something that happened on that day related to witchcraft, too. And at the beginning of it there are a few essays on witchcraft, and some smaller ones accompanied by spells intersperced throughout it.

It's fun...
