But I can pinpoint exactly where I lost interest: When they killed Charlie. He was my favorite character, and his death was one of the better ones in the series's third season (some of them were like, whoops, we're firing the actress, so lets just kill the character off too). But you can't go and kill off a Hobbit and get away with it.

Funny you should mention that, since he actually appeared in the last episode and had a pretty important role. =P

Wanna know what's really annoying? When you don't have a digibox, Dad's watching football, and Glee's on.

I will never understand why people say that about season three, they were answering questions.

Funny that you say you dislike "useless characterization", yet then say your reason for quitting is because they killed off a character. Characterization is almost never useless; LOST, and stories in general, wouldn't be half as interesting without good characterization.

And I don't understand why Charlie's death would make you stop watching, when:

1. His death was predicted in the beginning of the season; there was no way around that.

2. His death actually got something accomplished.

Did you stop following BIONICLE when Matoro died? It's the same thing.

"some of them were like, whoops, we're firing the actress, so lets just kill the character off too" - What did you want them to do? Keep the character alive with a different actor, and some ridiculous excuse for why they look different? That is what kills shows.

Okay, fine, they were answering questions, while moving the plot forward as slowly as possible. I remember waiting to sit down to some episode and all it was just a silly side plot that talked about one character's past in DEPTH whereas it didn't moved the actual plot on the island forward at all. Maybe I'm just into a faster pace, so sue me. I'm not saying you're an uncool dude for watching the show, I'm just saying that I didn't like it, and I don't quite understand why so many people preach about how great it is.

And I said I actually liked Charlie's death more than so many other character deaths who were just kinda "bam, I'm dead" types. Yes, it had meaning to it, and lots of foreshadowing. But that meant the actor left the show, didn't go on acting. And since he was my favorite and none of the other actors really captured my interest, why continue watching?

I'm not saying Lost is the worst show ever, just that its not one of my favorites. For example, I really liked Heroes, but it has started to drag out like Lost so it's not quite my favorite show anymore. So you want to rant about my rant? Fine, doesn't mean I have to care.
