Well his father WAS the Violet City gym leader, much like Koga(former Leader, now E4)/Janine(current leader), so that theory is entirely plausible.

If he were a Gym Leader or Elite Four member, that would be cool. We haven't had a Flying leader in a while (not since Winona), and have never had a Flying E4 member.

And, may I point out, there has never been a Dark Gym Leader. We really need one of those too.

Or another Ground or Poison leader. There haven't been any since Kanto.
