A Confusing Question.

You know how there is Kings, Queens and Presidents, right? Well, back in the olden days, how did everyone listen to one guy when he said "Hey look at me I'm going to be your leader!"... There had to be a guy who did that.

Actually, not really.

 

People most likely needed leadership and got a few people and singled out a some people to lead them.

 

That's my thoughts on it.

The answer would then be "You and what army?"

 

If they said "this one," people followed them.

 

If they said "um none," people ignored them.

 

It still works that way sometimes, you know.

It's instinct, really. Humans are still technically animals, so they'd have followed the person that was dominant. It all came down to fighting each other for that title.

That depended on the society. Sometimes it was who your friends were, sometimes your family, sometimes how many people you'd killed, sometimes how much wealth you had...

 

Or do you mean when we still lived in caves? If so, then I think that's a bit of a mystery.
