Arpy's Playlist Of Terrifyingly Inspirational Songs

Arpy

So, I have this paper due. It's terribly open-ended. The teacher told us to pick anything in this 1500-page-plus anthology and write whatever kind of thesis-driven essay we want, as long as it's 4-5 pages and has a catchy title, because Bob knows how important a catchy title is. Because of the piecemeal way in which I assemble papers, I will hazard a guess that I am at one page of actual content and maybe three pages of not fully realised ideas, all of which need to be translated into coherent, MLA format in the next twelve hours. Consequently, I have assembled a playlist of some of the most wonderfully inspirational songs ever in the hopes that it will motivate me to lick this paper, and then keep licking it until it becomes so soggy that the ink is illegible. Something like that.

  1. We Will Rock You - Queen
  2. We Are the Champions - Queen
  3. I'll Make a Man Out of You - Mulan
  4. You're the Best - Joe Esposito
  5. Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
  6. It's My Life - Bon Jovi
  7. Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
  8. Here I Go Again - Whitesnake
  9. I Am the One and Only - Chesney Hawkes
  10. Jukebox Hero - Foreigner
  11. We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
  12. Bad Reputation - Joan Jett
  13. A Dios Le Pido - Juanes (I don't even know)
  14. The Final Countdown - Europe

Also, pretty much anything by Stan Bush. <3

I'm totally open to suggestions, by the way.

^Doesn't that come after/along with We Will Rock You?

I suggest Living in a Prayer done by the Christian Punk/Rock band Stellar Kart. More upbeat...I like the way they did it.

Other things, um...

Sorry, it is to late to know what I should suggest to you and just what I like...

(I'm actually writing some stuff myself and it is way too late.)

Come Sail Away - Styx

You Give Love a Bad Name - Bon Jovi

Transformers Theme - White Lion

Otherwise, you've got Barney's Get Psyched! mix almost covered, plus you already have the Final Countdown.

YES

And I personally like Don't Stop Me Now more than We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions.

All very good songs.

But what about We are the champions, by Queen?

I like to think that's a fairly inspirational song.

Yeah, as Ben said, that tends to get lumped in with We Will Rock You rather a lot. *adds*

I like the 4th one.

....but that's the only one....

All very good songs as well. The Transformers theme should be on there, but Come Sail Away takes a while to get going and is more escapist than kick-butt, while that one of Bon Jovi's would be more suited to my as-yet nonexistent love songs playlist. That's just idiosyncrasy, though; to each their own.

I shall listen to this. Yes.

Five Iron Frenzy--Far, Far Away

Fireflight--Unbreakable

The Fray--You Found Me

Do you like The Goo Goo Dolls? (Slide, Broadway, Black Balloon, Iris)

(OK now it just seems I'm listing my favorite songs that I think you'll like during studying. Personally I stick to soundtracks when doing homework.)

(That said, The Dark Knight, Alice in Wonderland, Star Trek, Serenity, Iron Man, Pirates of the Caribbean (1-3), John Williams, etc. I'm sure you have some of this already, and I've told you this list before.)

John Rzeznik--I'm Still Here

Matchbox Twenty--Bright Lights

Michael W Smith--All in the Serve

Natasha Bedingfield--Pocket Full Of Sunshine

Shinedown--Second Chance

Carolina Liar--Show Me What I'm Looking For

The Who--Baba O'Reily

I'd say Anberlin, Relient K, Newsboys, and Train as well, but this isn't a "Hey, Arpy, I think you'd like this stuff" entry (which this post seemed to turn in to), and I can't choose just one thing...

But I think I recovered towards the end with Baba O'Reily.

'Lux Aeterna' (from Requiem for a Dream) is a very inspiring piece of music.

EDIT: And 'Requiem for a Tower' is even better, BTW.
