Signature Guidelines

Mysterious Minifig

As much as an update to the signature guidelines was needed, I don't think this was the way to do it. 800x300 is way too much space. Most other forums don't allow sigs that big. We go from one of the most restrictive to one of the most relaxed. :(

Some people say that this "big image fad" will only last for about a month or so. I hope they're right. If it doesn't I may seriously consider hiding all sigs. When I get on my computer, Ad Block Pus will be getting the url of every large banner.

I would also like to say that I will not be taking advantage of this extra space. I don't see my sig becoming uncompliant with the legacy signature guidelines any time in the near future.

I don't know what forums you've been on, because every single other forum I've seen has the same size, or even bigger size sigs. Heck, some of them don't have any size restrictions at all.

Honestly, I don't see why the big images would stop as long as they allowed. Don't place your hopes in an illogical thing some people have said; IMO that is going too far to argue for the changes. Obviously some people are just trying it out, but I would expect many people to continue to use them, because, let's face it, it's fun, and it's allowed, so why not? :)

I'd just strongly recommend holding off before you pass judgement. It isn't hard to scroll that much more, etc. You'll get used to it if you give it a chance, most likely. :)

I'll probably get use to it eventually, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. For the time being, Adblock plus will take care of all the oversized sigs.
