Before, it used to be exclusive to Toy Fair. They only gave them out to, I don't know, maybe a few hundred press people? Now, it's actually going to be able to be obtained much more easily. I don't know how it'll hit retail, but I suspect it'll be another TRU promo, like the chrome Stormtrooper was. You would buy $25 worth of LEGO SW stuff, and they would toss one in the bag for you. So, in a way it is hitting retailers.

Some of these polybags were given out quite a while ago, in certain European toystores. I doubt they'll become extremely avaliable worldwide, but I've read that the number of them produced is in the tens/hundreds of thousands rather than just 100.
