Oh, this has been such a terrible weekend, and the "festivities" aren't over yet. Our microwave fan is going out; our oven doesn't ov(?), and family computers have been wanting to not connect to the Internet.

I liked that microwave: it's lasted thirty-some odd years: I think it was a wedding gift for my parents or something like that. (That's what real technology is. Take that modern technology!) For the past several years, it's been pushing itself anyway: there were times when it just needed a rest or something and decided not to work. Then there were times it worked great.

We've only had that oven for a few years (I'm not sure on that one either), but now it won't come on. Hopefully, we'll have a new one very soon. The stove top still works, but the oven part doesn't; of course, there were times that didn't want to work. It has a built-timer/clock, which has been pressed so many times.

Then there's the computers that I have no idea what the issue is. I don't know if it was hardware or software, but there were problems, and I'm still working on getting mine working properly. Upon trying to figure out the problem, I'm not sure what I did exactly, but I re-installed my operating system to fix everything and am getting things back the way they were. (Fortunately, I have another drive that I store the actual data on: I learned after one fateful computer crash.)

We use Windows XP, and if I didn't know better, I'd swear the occasion was too well-timed (if you know what I mean). :P

Anyway, that's why I've been absent and delayed from making actual progress on some important things. Rest assured, if I don't get things corrected tonight, I will be online at least for a bit elsewhere tomorrow.

EDIT: We got a new microwave; I'm so happy.

Get a Vista!

It's too soon and too expensive for now. The first/beta versions of Windows are typically the buggiest. Besides, I think it might be the modem.

On the plus side: new microwave!
