Old People + Driving = Noooo

Ok first off, I respect my elders. I have nothing against old people as well.

However, when you start getting old, and your sense are not what they used to be, there is no reason for you to be on the road.

Which is what I experianced today on the way home. This dude was all over the road, swaying back and forth from left to right, going wicked slow, like 20 mph on a 45 mph road, using turn signslas for turns that didn't exist. His swaying could have seriously got himself into an accident.

I don't care if you fought in WWII or something honorable. If you cannot keep yourself steady on a road, you are a danger to everyone and should not be driving. Period.

New drivers I do not mind, cuz they are learning. But this guy, was no new driver.

I've seen plenty of old people that can drive just fine, one's abilities shouldn't be measured by age, instead every year a driving test should have to be taken. The tax payers would through a fit but far fewer people would be injured/killed in auto-related accidents.

Keep in mind most accidents are caused by the teenagers who are careless and still inexperianced. After teenagers, its the old people on that list.

5 years is long enough to keep a license and renew it, however if you have the inability to drive, then you should not be driving. Period.

My dad always complains about this too, and I will probably also later this year if I get my permit.

Excellent. We should hangout some time and get a cup of tea and complain about bad drivers. :P

I don't know. I think I'm somewhere on that list. I once turned into the wrong lane and thought that red meant go.

But, I haven't had my permit for a year yet.

EEEP, I turned 16 a few weeks ago...Knowing that you had to put up with a driver like that kinda scares me, cause my mom was behind on of them a few nights ago...My mom wants me to get my G1.

Of course there would be fewer auto-related accidents: everyone would be stuck at the DMV. :P

Although, some test after so many years of driving isn't a totally bad idea. You have to pay to renew anyway.

Stupidest idea ever, government. You give me this license, that I have to have to drive. You make me take two tests for it. You make me pay for these tests, and the license itself.

Then what do you do? You make it expire on me. And what do I have to do? Pay more money to fix it. Why? Because you made it expire. Do I have to take a test again? No. I just have to give more money.

Yes, I just recently had to renew my license. Frustrating when you're a poor college student.

Again, another complaint that my folks have about people driving. The old people take slow driving to a new level again. Although nothing as extreme as what you have described, Omi. Still, an accident is waiting to happen with driving like that. Terrible.

Omi, I think you may drive like my brother.

Whenever I'm riding with him, he's goes 60 in a 35MPH zone, he turns sharply, and it scares my mom half to death.

Strangely, I trust his driving. :P It's like a roller-coaster.

And it would suck to have to have a test reissued as well to check. Cuz think about it, that means you gotta pay for the test. And chances may happen that you could fail for one small thing. Now you lose your license. :P

And the cycle continues.

Your bro is awesome. :P

But I don't that fast.
