The Martian: 2015's Best Comedy

You all may recall a previous blog entry I made about The Martian being nominated in the Best Motion Picture of a Comedy or Musical Category for 2015 by the 73rd Golden Globes Awards. Well, this award ceremony was held tonight, and it turns out that The Martian actually won this award! Not only that, but Matt Damon, the actor who played the astronaut (Mark Watley) who was left on Mars in the movie, won the award for Best Performance in a Motion Picture for an actor in a Comedy or Musical as well!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The Martian was a great movie. It was one of the better movies I saw in 2015. And Matt Damon gave a great performance as well. But I just didn't see this movie as a comedy. Well it did have some funny lines in it, I saw it more as a drama than anything else.
But I guess this isn't the end of the world. I do think its great that the movie won in a category, even if its one I don't think it belongs in. But I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I just think this whole thing is kind of hilarious to begin with.
