Lenny7092
Guys, I know that Lego cancelled Bionicle G2 on July 29, which is three days ago, but this half of the year is Bionicle's 15th anniversary (It was born in 2001), so I consider this heinous: dying on its birthday. I'm sorry if it sounds dark, but cancellation is surely a bad birthday present to our beloved Bionicle. Anyone knew and shocked about it when you thought about it? I asked Lego through Twitter if they can come up with something that can celebrate Bionicle's 15th anniversary, like a TT video game or a documentary, but that something doesn't involve sets in my mind since there won't be 2017 sets. However, Lego replied that "We do not have plans for additional content. Stay tuned to Bionicle.lego.com for any future updates." Man, cancellation of the theme is a bummer. What about your thoughts, too? Speaking of this topic, you guys can also talk about your feelings about the cancellation in these two topics: 1. http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/22779-happy-15th-anniversary-bionicled/?do=findComment&comment=1083258 2. http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/22373-your-bionicle-wish-is-at-my-command/?do=findComment&comment=1074766 Hopefully, these could cheer you up, too. 1 Quote I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory! Dogbert
It's quite sad, really. If I knew how to edit I would make a tribute video. 2 Quote My epic "Volver a comenzar": http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/21137-volver-a-comenzar/

It doesn't really have a birthday as different parts of Bionicle launched at different points in 2001. The website was there from almost the start of the year, the MNOLG's chapters arrived across different months, the comics were around the middle, etc. It's true that the sets were released around July, but only in America. In Europe that happened some months earlier. I don't know if there was a specific day on which the release happened in either place.
Clyce
Well, it's been a fun 15 years. Certainly something I won't forget. I still plan to let the story run in my heart and it might be interesting to introduce the series, the sets I own, and the media content to my future kids in sequential order for the next 15 years and by then I'm sure LEGO will return to Bionicle; it may not be in its constraction form, but in another system and story. Who knows. Regardless, I'll continue to MOC and make art/fanfic and I'm interested in seeing how the community will evolve years after Bionicle's death. I mean we've been through this before, but this time there likely won't be that constant push for #bringbackbionicle. This time the community will likely just evolve more organically and will be fueled by its natural creativity for art rather than an agenda. 1 Quote Gleaming glistens The Red Star, Bringing life to death afar, Up away in deepest space, You call me from your distant place. Lenny7092
Bionicle didn't die it just went back to sleep for another thousand years. That is a very beautiful way of saying that.Well done. Uh huh, what a good way to cheer someone up when Bionicle died on its birth year. Let's look at it this way, Bionicle will always be remembered as one of Lego's greatest and most famous themes in history, so I'm pretty sure that Bionicle would come back sometime, like how DC Comics's Batman and Marvel's Spider-Man movies came back as better and more successful. Bionicle=Batman=Spider-Man by popularity and how they are respected, praise, and can come back (as better). Anyway, since Bionicle died on its birth year, what are we going to do to celebrate it? I ask because I am not sure. Quote I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!
Blastcage
It's quite sad, really. If I knew how to edit I would make a tribute video. If someone who can edit could would make a tribute video - actual video, not slideshow - using the song "For Those About To Rock" by AC/DC, that would be amazing. 1 Quote @THE_Blastcage
