  1. OOC: Isn't it obvious? He was busy lookin' forward to the weekend and making up his mind what seat he can take...OoC: Well I just finished typing my penultimate post tonight. I'd edit it now but I realized I still have English to do. I'll put it in a presentable state and post it 3rd hour in class. My final post should be after that.Atton, for the record I never really planed on responding to your Shaw post. You might have come to the conclusion I've been very busy lately. College applications and episode VII news have been keeping me occupied. I just don't have the energy to engage in any more plot points. If you continue playing with Pharisee you should know that his crabby personality is the same. It's his theology and outlook that has changed. It will be tomorrow. I realize my word is somewhat meaningless by now but I'll say it anyway.
  2. Ha! The clock on my computer says 7:36! I played 20 minutes earlier!EDIT: Oh, I wonder why it says 8:36 on my BZPower post. I guess it functions on something other then central time.TPBM has a bunny.
  3. I love snow. It's cold enough now, Winter should just start already.TPBM is busy applying for colleges and scholarships.
  4. I think that's a common misconception. Balance in the force does not mean having an equal number of Jedi and Sith. The Sith not Yin to the Jedi's Yang. The Sith represent sin, and their existence alone creates unbalance. The Sith are inherently evil. When Sith live they create death and violence. That devastation is not balance, balance can only come from piece and that's a Jedi thing.Anakin did destroy the SIth at Endor and he fulfilled the prophecy. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the Sith technically came back until Darth Krayt empire decades latter. Considering the Sith's knack at reemerging that's a pretty good rate of success. (Palpatine's clones don't count.)I don't expect Sith to be in the new series. My assumption will be that Jedi from the new Jedi praxeum will go rogue and turn into dark Jedi. They won't technically be Sith but they will still provide the necessary dark side element.
  5. The problem with that theory is that Anakin restored balance to the force at the end of Return of the Jedi. Although there are plenty of post Endor Sith, utilizing them in episode VII would cheapen the prophecy. Dark Jedi are a possibility but using SIth would make the chosen one prophecy meaningless.
  6. I've been reading multiple places that the new series will have an original story. A real shame, Heir to the Empire would have made a great movie. However, it is only the 2nd day. Rumors abound and I'm not ready to accept that Disney would throw out the EU yet. I'm going to keep hoping for a Thrawn trilogy until the first preview comes out 2 years from now. That's plenty of time for them to come to their senses!
  7. My whole life is Improv :DTBPM is happy Disney bought LucusArts
  8. OoC:My Solomon/Dr. Cyborg post will be up before Friday I think. I've been focusing on collage essays but I can finish my post once they are done Don't worry guys, it should be a normal length one! :PBy the way, I got a DeviantArt account. Peabody and Brikman have already been spammed by a lot of my stuff and I would not be surprised if they missed my doodle of Dust. If you did, I recommend you check it out! Atton, and avmatoran, you guys should get accounts too. There are places to post stories and it might be an ideal place to stay in touch.Again, I apologies for dragging this whole thing on. This next post will be the penultimate one.
  9. One-off what if stories aren't enough to count as an entire continuity last I checked. The Holiday Christmas special, with the exception of...maybe some of the technology used? Has been declared mostly non-canon last I checked. Star Wars has levels of canon that mostly filter out the ######. But because movies are the HIGHEST level of canon, this is going to be much more destructive.I imagine these movies will be most successful if they are set after the original trilogy. The movies are G-Canon, The television show is T-canon while most literature is ranked C-canon. The ###### you mentioned would be the S-canon is is disregarded anyway. My concern would be the lose of such classic works as the Zahn books and the X-wing series. I do think that the Thrawn trilogy would lend itself well to the big screen and I think Disney might hold more respect to the EU then Lucus did. Unlike him, I can see movie versions of books coming from Disney. Somehow the first scene in IV must have thrown me off. You know, the skirmish with roughly...twenty or forty people dead? Real kid-friendly. As for war...well, the battle scenes and the secret weapon projects tell a different story.Episode V was a very dark movie. The Empire pawns the rebels on Hoth, Han Solo is taken by Boba Fett and Luke looses his hand. Episode VI was originally meant to be dark too. Han Solo would have died and the Millennium Falcon would have been destroyed. George Lucus changed his mind when he realized he could make money with Ewoks and as a result the movies become more whimsical.Saying the movie was made for kids is a pour excuse and Lucus has been using it to cover up all the negativity over the years. If it was really designed for children why does episode I include talks about taxation and boring bureaucracy? Again, alternate univeres in the comic world will minimize the damage. The SW canon system works differently, comics can write off as an alternate universe, Star Wars simply can't. The Pirates didn't have any source material beyond a ride in the park. There was nothing to change, so really, your point there isn't valid.Just like Marvel, LucusArts would still maintain some level of control. What's good here is that someone will be around to question George Lucus. The problem with the Prequels was that his staff was crewed entirely by "Yes men," George needs more people around to question his choices. When he is treated like an infallible entity the movies suffer. Now, he will have someone to answer to and provide some necessary pressure. Yes. Because caring about something and being a fan is so very outdated. Why wouldn't one want to see all those stories and characters you've read about and empathized with completely changed? What a novel experience it will be.I really would like to see movies of the books. Like I said, the Thrawn trilogy would lend itself very well to movies. Unlike George, Disney cares what the fans think and I bet they will show more respect to the wonderful expanded universe then he has. Lucus needs to step down from his pedestal, I think Disney will do what's right and not just be arrogant narcissist that George has been acting like lately. I'm actually existed. As long as Lucus does not have the right word I think these have incredible potential. I do hope that the EU won't just be thrown out and I prey Disney can learn to appreciate it.
  10. Apparently I just missed itTPBM is affected by hurricane Sandy
  11. I said the approach, not the matter itself. I think that in their attempt to do what you describe, they do just the exact opposite.I agree here, in RPGs for example, players are prevented from creating homosexual characters. By not being allowed to discuss it creates the allusion that the subject does not exist. It's discriminatory for Gay and Lesbians using this forum to not be able to be who they are. It gives them the impression that they are not welcome and are treated as non-people. By refusing to talk about them it can rob some members of there humanity and create an unwelcoming environment. In many cases refusal to acknowledge them and can be far worse then outright discrimination. I imagine that homosexual members using this forum might be more comfortable if they were allowed to express themselves and not be treated as a taboo.I imagine that even that paragraph was unwelcome to some and is enough to spark some massive religious feud. I certainly I don't want that, but by talking about it it brings the issue out in the open. Hopefully I don't receive retribution for posting it, but if I do my point will only be proven.I mean no disrespect. I apologize to anyone who does not want to have to think or talk about this stuff.
  12. All my fellow players in Dino attack RPG. PeabodySam, Brikman MacStudz, Atton Rand, avmatoran, Jackson Lake, Takunuva101, and Andrewnuva199.
  13. Religion and Politics. In other words, things I can't talk about here
  14. It is allowed, but probably best belongs in the Games and Trivia forum, I think... In that case it would probably be better to close it because the topic starter is not premeir.Wait, how is this a post it here topic? I indicate what this topic can serve s but I don't say that people should post. Admittedly the post it here rules are rather vague but I don't think this topic fits those criteria.I originally considered posting it in the games forum but considering there is no winner, points, or competition I did not think that would be appropriate. It's in the lego discussion forum because it's designed to inspire discussion and inspiration. I don't see how that is impractical, on the contrary, it provides a format where MOCers can look at different parts with a new perspective. If moving it is appropriate, so be it. However, since it does not meet the qualifications of a post it here topic I don't think closing is the appropriate answer.... Well, for one thing, a MOC can take days to complete. Someone else will surely beat you to the punch. Also, games don't need winners, points, or competition.I never asked for an original MOC. I ask only for an example, the picture could be from something they saw at brickfest or anywhere else on the web. A photo is not even necessary! I specified that it would be helpful in proving a point but I understand that if we waited for a photo of every single piece in use the topic would drag along. This is not a game, it's a challenge, In this case there is a difference between the two.
  15. Would you mind providing an example of this? Topics are only closed if they either break the rules or have been sufficiently answered. In what situation would a topic starter "plead their case?"I suppose what I mean is when a topic is closed without giving the starter a chance to correct their error. I remember I was playing Toa War in the old game forum and it was closed because it more closely an RPG. We had been playing it for mouths and we never got a chance to discuss what to do after it was abruptly discontinued. Instances like this would be ideal for a warning post so any problems would have a chance to be fixed. I've made several topics here that have been closed on the second post. I'm someone who can accept I've made a mistake but it irritates me if I don't have a chance to justify myself or fix what warranted a closer.Something like a rebuttal would be helpful too. If a staff member closes a topic and the starter thinks they are in error they should have a place to express that. A post after a topic was closed would allow a topic starter to redirect members, ask questions, and apologize. Sometimes a staff member can make a mistake and close a topic after a question has not been fully been answered or misunderstanding the intend of the original topic starter. Those who've spend time attempting to make a good topic should be giving more voice so misunderstandings can be resolved.
  16. Probably the staff when they close a topic without warning and give the starter no chance to plead their case. There is not much curtsey here and I've seen members totally disrespect others work and feelings. Also, members doing the staff's job.On a lighter note, the somewhat confusing reference desk and over-reactive filter. I also miss the top 10 hot topics on the home page and dislike the incredible amount of CoTs. They seem to outnumber legit Lego topics and clutter up the resent posts. Also the incredibly late news. This is not necessarily annoying but more amusing. BZPower has been know to post stories weeks after Brickset does.
  17. Not in BZPRPG but I am a dedicated member of the Dino attack RPG in LEGO RPG.TPBM know who the guy in ~Sol de Medianoche~'s avatar is. ^

  19. Probably the Huna, Matatu, and mask of Intangibility. A Suletu would be cool provided I can turn it off and mask a Charisma would certainly prove useful.
  20. The new X-wing starfighter. Contrary to popular belief it is way better then the old one and has some major differences (correct length guns, engine detail, color, etc.) It fixed a lot of the 2006 version's flaws.
  21. I suppose Axonn. It's not that he's a bad set, on the contrary he is awesome. The fact is that I bought him with a $35 dollar ebay gift card when I could have used it to get some cool vintage space sets.
  22. It seems that every few weeks a topic pops up that asks the question worst piece. Inevitably someone will appear and declare that no piece is utterly useless and can be applied as long as the MOCer is willing to think outside the box. True, some parts are rather specialized but with the proper amount of creativity and innovation they can be used in strange and unique ways. challengeSo I pose my challenge: Instead of lamenting the limitations of a piece, find way in which said piece can be used in an awesome manner. From my time here on BZPower I've seen links to some of the coolest MOCs using the most "useless parts."This topic can serve as an inspiration for stunk builders surcharging for a challenge or test to deturmin how well you know your brick. All parts are fair game, Galador, Ben 10, and Dinosaurs included. Members here can attempt to stump other players be declaring a part they believe to be the most difficult to use. Name a part here and certainly a use can be found.I'll start by posting a part I find hard to build with:The person below me will now state a way this part can be used outside it's intended purpose and preferably post a photo demonstrating it. Then, that person will post a part they deem difficult to use and the next person will attempt to find a way to implement that part.Good luck. Play well. Hopefully this can provide a format to both contemplate new ways to use pieces we overlook and challenge our building spirits.
  23. the square root of -1 I think. Just go's to show haw useful algebra 2 has been in my life. It's cold where the TPBM lives.
