  1. Like me? No, seriously, I would love to help you on Nova Orbis Nickon. It is a great project, one I truly believe in. I myself am a writer trying to learn his craft. And if you do not need any help on Nova Orbis, I'd be open to do any other kind of collaboration
  2. I was not able to post it in the BS01/HS01 thread for some reason. Maybe it's because I have to be invited into that board or something?
  3. The BIONICLEsector01 has finally fully implemented their new skin/layout that they have been working on. What do you guys think? Link: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Note: The few broken features, white links and invisible text in the Table of Contexts are being fixed as of what I've heard. Example screenshots of the Main Page:
  4. I guess people got fed up with Majhost's "maintenance." How long is it going to go on for anyway??
  5. Can you tell us how to perform the glitch that gets you inside the temple? Can you maybe record it and make a video demonstration?
  6. I would still love to help with the writing once the project is started up again
  7. No pressure or anything, but you are still looking for writers, right? You said that you were going to PM me, but you never did. I assume you meant you would do it if it turns out you do need help, so I assume that you've found all the writers you need at this point. But if it is because you just haven't gotten to the point of writing dialogue, I'm still open to help out. Plus I have a lot of free time to do it. And then I say a lot, I mean a huge amount
  8. So, if you still need any writers, I'm still up for the task. I have knowledge of many literary techniques and devices, and I also think I'm pretty well-versed in coming up with interesting dialogue. I am still a writer in training though. I have a lot to learn. I also have vast knowledge of the Bionicle universe like many others on this site, having been along since 2001 So, if you still need any help, just ask!
  9. Writing? That's my forté! I already sent you a message by the way I wrote most of the script for the movie that was supposed to come out of the now defunct Bionicle: Next Generation project, a version that no one but me and a few have seen though.
  10. Your Doctot Who analogy is ingenious! I'd love for the new story to turn out like this. Also, they could make it kind of like how The Legend of Korra relates to Avatar: The Last Airbender, with subtle references to past events
  11. I wonder how you're going to tackle the connection between written and spoken Matoran language, because there are so many contradtictions you have to avoid whle figuring that out. I wish the people at LEGO had thought about this, instead of just making an alphabet that is simply based on the English language. I mean, it doesn't make any sense that the word for temple (kini) and spirit (mata (or ka)) is pronounced the way it does, if it's written as it is. I mean phonetically it just contradicts itself. I mean Onu-Koro means Earth Village, or Village of Earth, correct? But sometimes it's written in the Matoran letters that actually correspond with O, N, U and K, O, R and O again. But then you'll happen upon a sentence with "village" in it, where it's written with the letters that correspond with V, I, L, L again, A, G and E. How does this make sense? It doesn't... I mean what is correct? Using the letters that correspond with O, N and U, or the ones that correspond with V, I, L, L, A, G and E? And if you write it in the latter way, is it then still pronounced as "koro"? So inconsistent... Man, this is such a brainteaser, right? Or should we just take this with a graint of salt, as non-canon, and hear what you have to say on the matter later? It would be interesting if you could come up with a system that would throw everything we know about the written language out the window.
  12. Not with the right execution. This is what a lot of people here on BZP are forgetting. Everything is possible with the right mindset as a writer, the right creativity and imagination. But it would be hard.
  13. And we should have Cryoshell and Le-Koronan whacky tunes playing to the couples dancing
  14. This^But just, for a little while, try to imagine what'd it be like if LEGO became something like DC or Marvel, with everything tying together, always building upon all series at the same time. Imagine all those relaunches... that would be even worse than this. I hope that Greg does come back though... otherwise we really do have to deal with this on our own. I wonder what LEGO would think about actually handing the rights to the story to someone like DC or Marvel. Not so it can be blended into the other series though, but for continuation purposes. It would be amazing to see James Roberts and Nick Roche write stories set in the BIONICLE universe! As a matter of fact, the backup is currently 95% done. After that, all that's left to do is add a massive notice saying "Uhhmmm hey we don't own this stuff, so please don't sue us, mmmkay?", and upload everything. Awesome. Keep me and the others posted! I'd love to get to use those sites again Will they include all the other, previous versions of the sites, accessible through the Wayback Machine? Or is that stuff now lost forever?
  15. I guess that when they shapeshift, it is actually the armor that is shapeshifting to a different kind of shell that can still hold the energy.
  16. And some of the fans back as well, and make them interested in the game
  17. Originally they were not made of pure Antidermis energy. Originally they were completely biomechanical as any other being in the Matoran Universe. I think it was Chirox who came up with the idea of transforming their bodies into energy, wasn' it...? EDIT: They were actually always brought to life from Antidermis, I think, but they didn't become the beings of pure energy that we know before later. Here's a quote on the evolution into pure energy, from BS01: Originally biomechanical, the Makuta race eventually evolved to a state of pure energy, in which they no longer had to eat, sleep, breathe, or could feel pain. This evolution was first noticed by Bitil, and Chirox learned by examining a sample of Kojol's essence what had happened to them. Teridax ordered the Nynrah Ghosts to assist them by modifying their new armor. Soon after, the Makuta made a collective decision to shun their inner light, becoming true creatures of shadow. Due to the threat posed to their new armor by Toa of Iron and Magnetism, Makuta began monitoring Matoran populations of those elements, and employed several Iron and Magnetism Toa in their guardian Toa Hagah teams, in order to keep them in check." Perhaps it was actually a natural part of a Makuta's life cycle?
  18. This reminds me of the words of a Disney rep in 1997 about the TV series spin-off of Hercules. He said they were setting it specifically before the movie, when the main character was a nobody, saying they'd learned from their experience with the Aladdin TV series (which was set after the movie). When asked about this, he replied that it was too hard to tell stories after the big happy ending. Could this be the case with Bionicle? With Makuta's defeat, has the story reached the point of "that's it, the end"? What do you mean? Just to be clear, Greg meant the analogy to be about an official return (possibility) -- not about how active we might be if it doesn't return. The idea being that if we stay active enough it'll naturally show LEGO that there's fans out there for a return. BTW, though, another big difference is that those of us showing activity here wouldn't be indicative of the target audience anyways, though, and I think most of us have realized that. And it really only works if it's "natural". In other words, if LEGO mostly sees us saying "come on, guys, act interested!" they are going to realize it's more drummed-up (not to be negative, but for lack of a better phrase ) than based on genuinely strong continued dissatisfaction with the end. The fans LEGO would really be targeting won't likely be part of any online Bionicle community already anyways; that'll be new generations. I'll say it again if you missed it above - the 'idea' doesn't work, because there were many active fans when Bionicle was last around, and yet Lego went ahead and cancelled it. Therefore the activity of fans is irrelevant to whether the line is alive or not. You sort of say this yourself at the start of the second paragraph. Look, this is the point I am trying to make here. I am not talking abut continuening the story as much as I am talking about continuening fandom. Fandom does not mean story. Fandom is the same as fanbase. Though, as someone pointed out, new stories would help the fandom I think. By the way, everything is possible with stuff like this if it is executed well. If it is not, not so much. And I did like the new stories we got, it's just that when it stopped it felt like a total cliffhanger kind of thing. Meeting Mavrah and then boom, nothing. A bit of a disappointment, but I don't wan to demand anything from Greg. But I am going to say that I do not feel that LEGO let BIONICLE reach its maximum potential. But when it did reach its prime in its lifespan, it was pretty good Stories from Bara Magna and Bota Magna or just Spherus Magna wouldn't hurt the fandom, I think. It if was well-written and well-executed, it would actually help But we all know this. I don't want to be redundant... so, I am sorry that I sound kind of like that.
  19. The analogy have different meanings depending on how you look at it. And how drummed up? Business is usually controlled by hype actually. But with the post, I think I was aiming for more of the fans that are not here anyore but may lurk here. I think it's a tradition for fans to sit lurking before registrering. Funny Oh, and I am very happy that you are so enthusiastic We can do this, but only step by step I think. And I can't wait to see what you come up with.
  20. I think it is actually irrelevant wether BIONICLE or Star Trek is similiar in any way or not. What I was talking about is the fanbase, not the story So the anology does work here, as it is not used in such a context. But I get what you mean.
  21. That's actually a rather good explanation for that exact art piece and why it's here there and looks that way. But I wonder if it's canon that they all had the Kraakhan and wielded the same Staff of Darkness haha. I guess not.
  22. Well, for me, it never stopped. I still actively try to keep BIONICLE, its fandom and everything alive as good as I can. I don't see how anyone could grow out of something so fantastic and unique. I mean that storyline, those wondrous concepts. The sets. So overwhelming.
  23. I see boredom as something negative. I have a bit of an workaholic in me. I get so restless during holidays. And this post was actually meant to be positive, but as I said, some of it came out wrong from what I was thinking and wanted to write, or that was what I meant about wording what I meant more properly. It's simply a call to the fans that are silent. I know, but people should be able to enjoy the whole package when we had it. Sets and story. Now that we don't have any new sets I can't see why people can't care about the story anymore. I think that is actually why Greg is not postog any stories recently. I think that he doesn't know if the audience is still there, though I don't know. You, the staff, probably do though. But as Greg said, we just have to love both Bionicle and Hero Factory. Using the Star Trek analogy was rather clever and a good idea, but it's kinda like people don't care anyway. I use that analogy all the time myself. Did you know that Advance Copenhagen still care alot about Bionicle, and they have been helping some fan projects?
  24. You don't need any ressources to do so, actually. All you need is a live for Bionicle, knowledge of language, imagination, creativity and a pen and paper. Unless you want to move from fanfic to actual movies. Ever heard of James Roberts' Eugenesis?EDIT: At least we knew about the risks. We were working on shorts. But then came All the downtimes, then the line's end and then the sad declind that we're seeing now.
