  1. I just hope they integrate the archives into the new forum. And, of course, the portal page. Does the new IPB support portal pages? -- :ruru:

Actually, that would make little sense, as that would make the point for creating the archive and the new forums in the first place void, which is to reduce server load. ;) IPB does support portal pages, but we already have the front page for news and such. ~Gata. ;)
Well, I had thought the way they were doing that was by locking all the topics so the indexing process would not have to include the old topics, as they wouldn't be updated, ever. But if not... then at least a link to the archives on the new forums would help. On the other note, I think that if B6 could integrate the front page into the new IPB software, then that would be awesome, as it would have the new look and feel more like a part of the forum. Also, is the front page separate from the forums, or is it run by IPB, too? -- :ruru:
I'm afraid that would't help. The stress of the server is not the amount of new posts it receives, it's the amount of posts it has to go through each time one of those 10,000 members logs in and browses the forum. The main page will be updated later on, and it's not part of IPB, as far as I know - it's custom code. Give them sometime, and they will have the new one up and running; I guess this means a quick link to the archives will be implemented as well.
  2. Does Greg really have time to talk to us anyway? Does it really matter?

Considering Greg's busy with his actual Lego job, and that he has a child to take care of, his time would be limited; even if he had some to spare. Nevertheless, answering questions has been a 'hoby' he personally enjoys to do, so I'm sure he would find more time to interact with hardcore fans.
  3. Holy Grail? That's a hard one. It has to be Axalara, Baranus and Scorpio XV1. I consider them my "Holy grails" as they are the biggest, priciest and most complex sets I have.
  4. IC - Athillion: "Don't worry, I'm not sure if I can swim myself - AND don't ask why I am not sure," quirked Athillion. It's best if we don't go there, he thought. And with that, Athillion started moving towards the direction of the river.

  5. I'm still trying to figure out why LEGO would implement such a silly rule. What are the worried about if Greg talks to a twelve year old?

Even though Greg works for LEGO and is most likely not going to try and find people and kidnap them, he is a 45 year old man. It's just safer that people 13 and under don't talk to him. LEGO, BZPower, or any other site Greg is on, can't know what he is talking about with people. Another thing that is a main factor, is most people above 13 year of age, have matured more than people under 13. A lot of 12 year olds wouldn't be smart enough, or mature enough to comprehend some of the things a kidnapper or some other kind of criminal would say. If a criminal said, "Hey, wanna go meet me at the park? I can give you tons of candy," most kids under 13 would agree. That is not saying that Greg is some kind of criminal and most likely he is not. But it is a precaution, that I think is very necessary. -Rez
Well by that logic, everybody over the age of 18 should be banned from talking to minors.I know that predators exist on the internet, and I know there are measure needed to make sure their goals are not easy but banning discussion of any kind when the target audience is 12 years and under is just silly.
Guys, remember, LEGO is trying to revise their policy, which translates to "change at some point in the near future". The discussion that's been going on since the policy was announced has brought out one sole fact; you can't be sure of a person's age in the internet, and the whole idea of the 13+ forum is silly by itself. BZPower will be adjusting to the new policy as soon as possible, so there's no reason to be upset about this matter right now.
  6. All of the sudden, these Hero Factory sets seam extremely close to Bionicle sets. Which is not necessarily a bad thing; for me, the sets feel less childish than they did before, almost if they are a tad more serious. I was not a fan of what they did with Hero Factory up to now, but these sets look fantastic.Phantom, Evo and Rocka are definitely the gems for me here. Their designs actually look pretty detailed and cool.

  7. IC - Athillion: "Well.... WELL, it so happens this is where I live, so there's a nice little boat waiting for me out there. Unfortunately, I won't make it to Ga-Koro alive, not with all the Rahi rampaging. That's pretty much where you come into play. You want to get to Ga-Koro? I do too. But I want to get there alive." Athillion walked a few steps further, and pointed out a small road leading close to a river. OOC: This is for Legolover's character.

  8. Those emotes are probably standard emotes that come packed along with the new forum software. Reporting this into an Admin should fix the problem, as he will go ahead and remove them.

But you would think that somebody would have noticed it sometime in the last six months before the forums went live.
Trust me; even if there's been six months, the emotes are such an irrelevant section of the forum, that while everyone was busy solving bugs, transferring custom code and settings, they would have just completely missed it.
  9. I am also glad to see we have something up too. Since Bioran has granted us editing rights in the KJP site (but only for MNI pages), I hope to whip up an Origins/TGC schedule for approval very soon. In between, we will held auditions for Their Mistake.

  10. IC - Athillion - Po-Koro Bar: "Well then, let's take it from the basics, shall we? We can built trust between each other as we go. Let me see, AH! At your call, we can find a way to travel to Ga-Koro, and it better be fast."

  11. IC - Athillion - Po-Koro Bar: The Matoran of Minerals turned away from the poster, and looked directly into the Skakdi's eyes, almost if he was staring at his soul. "Haha, as far as I know, which I don't, there won't be any. What's your name again?", said Ath, who was getting a tad more serious now.
