It did get brought up once or twice in the story, but the Toa were rarely in situations like that for too long. The only real example outside of 2001 I can think of would be Jaller in the Pit, but he was mutated by the Mask of Life to be a water creature, so it probably wouldn't affect him anyway.

Actually, come to think of it, how would that work, anyways? If a Toa of Water stood on a rock for too long, would that happen? Would Toa of Air be weakened by walking? Would Toa of Earth be weakened by breathing? And what about all the side elements without any clear opposites? Do they just not have that weakness?

Okay, come to think of it, I doubt this actually is canon, considering that it would make for some really stupid weaknesses.

Gali is the Toa of Water; areas such as deserts weaken her

Tahu is the Toa of Fire; water weakens him

Kopaka is the Toa of Ice; fire weakens him

Onua has very sensitive vision; bright light can damage his eyes

The disc doesn't specify anything about Lewa or Pohatu

Oh. The way you worded it made it sound like being exposed to their literal opposite elements would weaken them all equally. As far as stuff like this goes, it does get brought up occasionally, but it never really impacts the plot very much,

This is supposed to be a trailer for Lego Duplo, right? They don't think the average kid is actually this stupid, right?

    Right?

Or maybe they just expect kids ages 7–14 to have a better sense of humor than the typical BZPower member.

It's a cartoon, people. Let's not forget how downright goofy the original Ninjago TV special and webisodes in 2011 were ("This rock is shaped like a donut! I wonder if it TASTES like a donut!"). Even this year's Ninjago webisodes with Master Chen and Clouse were pure slapstick. But today, Ninjago is one of the most beloved LEGO storylines out there. A series doesn't have to take itself completely seriously to be entertaining.

Of course it doesn't have to take itself seriously. I love comedy as a genre, but most of the trailer isn't comedy, it's just talking more about the (IMO incredibly cliche) story. There was like one joke in that entire thing, and to their credit, it was legitimately humorous, but you can't just say 'good because goofy'. Ninjago had a sense of lore and mystery to it from the beginning, while this just kinda feels...I dunno, empty. I guess I'll hold further judgement until we get new material, but it just seems like they aren't trying as hard with this one.

Set wise I really wish we'd seen more of the dark hunters. The shadowed one would have been so cool to see in set form.

We did. It wasn't that impressive.

Was it just a combiner or did it have a set to?

I wish we got to see more of fenrahk I forget what happened to him after he became the dragon it kinda just jumps to some how vezon was unchained to it and left?

It came out back when Bionicle was releasing combiner sets, so yeah, it was both a combiner and its own set.

To answer your second question, after it was freed from the Ignika, it emerged onto Voya Nui, fought the Tahtorak, then fled to Mata Nui, where it battled Bohrok and promptly got its butt handed to it on a silver platter. Gali found it and healed it, after which it headed to Metru Nui, got defeated by the remaining Toa Mahri, and was placed into the Archives. After Makuta fought Mata Nui, it was evacuated with everything else from the archives and presumably spends its days getting into more stupid fights.

  5. Man, with their track record for Bionicle movies, I'm not sure I want them making another one. On the other hand, pretty much every Lego movie before The Lego Movie sucked, so they might be able to pull it off nowadays, I don't know.

To answer your question, I think the main thing would be somehow proving that Bionicle has a large enough fanbase to draw in a profitable movie audience. I know most kids have probably heard of Bionicle, but I don't know how many would actually go see a movie about it.

  6. Here's my entry for the Journey To Netflix contest. I went for sort of a minimalist yet detailed-ish style on this one, so who knows how that turned out.
