    Hey, y'all!
    It's well past time for a life update--I have been pretty much away from here for a long time but I have been thinking of y'all often. So glad to see so many familiar faces around here! The site definitely looks different, but I am glad that the functionality is back.
    I tried to check in earlier in the summer, but that happened to be about 1 week after the forums went down. Whoops.
    Life update? If you would like. A lot has happened. I graduated in May, got married in June, and started grad school this semester. My degree and my grad program are both English Literature, but my main studies are in Game Studies, particularly in physical spaces--board games, card games, etc. (I pretty much directly attribute this to the many hours of Mafia that I have played on this forum; the weird hybrid of physical and digital games that those are is fascinating to me). 
    The past four years or so have definitely had some rough times too, but overall things are pretty good from over here.
    Well that's all I can think of at the moment. AMA if you want to.
    What's up in your life? How have y'all been doing?

    I think I am finally able to release this beast on the community after almost a year!
     
    Scars of the Seven: The N'dasti Monks is the first chapter in a planned trilogy of co-op Minecraft maps designed for 2-7 players. It features a Borderlands and Diablo inspired loot system, the ability to load your progress into the next chapter, 7 unique classes, and an hour or more of gameplay! It also experiments with storytelling techniques in Minecraft maps, and takes advantage of the 1.6.2 features!
     
    However, I need to test the Release Candidate before my LP team records, which is what I need you for! I am going to host an unofficial BZPc soon, hopefully tomorrow night, but I need testers!
     
    If you are interested, just say something please. =P

    Going to camp starting Sunday for the next week, and will have absolutely no internet access this time. (Seriously, if I post anything after Sunday, I give you permission to lynch me this time. It couldn't actually be me. =P)
     
    So, keep the place running and don't do anything too fun while I am gone!

    College

    aight so a real quick blog post because of urg the big ole life decisions. This is more for my sake than for actually getting y'all to read this but whatever
     
    so I'm going to college in the fall, thus I've been applying to schools and such. I'm, uh, pretty good at school I guess? And so I just got a letter today. I never thought that getting a letter saying that you got money would make me so freaked out.
     
    So basically I spent this last weekend at my number one school, that we will call school A for the purposes of this blog post. School A is where my grandparents taught, and is within 5 minutes from where my grandfather and my aunt live. It's been my top choice for a while, because not only do I have family there, but I really like the faculty and the programs and the like. I was honored to get the highest possible scholarship that they got, which is half tuition for four years. A pretty good deal, for a private college.
     
    I've got a friend who may go to this school, and overall the only thing really keeping me from this school is the sheer amount of money. For a guy who is planning on getting a doctorate, this whole money situation is more than four years of school.
     
    Now we look at college B. College B was my safe school, one for me to go to if we just can't afford for me to go to school A. I thought it looked like an alright school, but I have yet to visit it. I did, however, think that it looked pretty good when researching it, which is why I applied.
     
    I got a letter sometime in the past 4 days or so, the days I was out of town at college A, from college B. College B is offering me, basically, a full ride and then a little bit. They are almost paying me to come there. Now, that was kinda the goal in the first place, but it also came with a requirement. I would have to commit to going to college B by the 6th in order to receive this money. In other words, I suddenly have just a little more than two weeks to decide colleges and I'm kinda freaking out over here.
     
    I would much rather go to college A, atm, but if college B is going to help get me financially to the next level...
     
    So now I am planning a trip to college b, and will likely have to make the three hour trip alone, because both of my parents are pretty much wrapped up until about the 8th.
     
    Things just got super real and i dont like it very much basically and man oh man .-.

    So. Funny story.
     
    I was given the keys to my dad's truck yesterday, with the intent to move it from way out in the parking lot to in front of the building the rest of my family was in. It seemed like a little thing, no big deal. I had to move it maybe a hundred feet, and the parking lot was pretty much empty already. So I walked up to the truck, confident that this wasn't going to be anything noteworthy.
     
    Of course, if it wasn't noteworthy I wouldn't be writing about it, would I?
     
    Have you ever had one of those days where you just don't feel like yourself? Maybe you feel a little sick, you are just tired beyond belief, or you just aren't quite right. Well, yesterday was one of those days. Why I felt so bad, I had no idea, but I didn't feel particularly myself. In many ways, I was moving the truck to try and make myself feel better and more like me.
     
    So I got to the truck, opened the door, and slid into the drivers' seat. In an instant I begin my process to prepare to drive. I buckle my seat belt, I check all the mirrors and adjust as necessary, I look all around to see what I would have to avoid and I don't see anything special to avoid.
     
    Easy. I think as I put the truck into drive. I immediately start rolling backwards when I let go of the brake, and I can't turn the steering wheel at all for some reason. I step on the brake quickly, and begin looking around for explanation. This was only my second time behind the wheel of the truck, so I began looking for a parking brake or the like, thinking that it would help with the wheel.
     
    After a few minutes of searching, I see my dad walking up with a very confused look on his face. I open the door, and ask him where the parking brake is.
     
    He looks at me for a long moment and then asks "You haven't turned it on yet, why would you need the parking brake?"
     
    I look back down at the steering wheel, and see that I had only inserted the key and turned on the radio.

    I shifted back into park, and I turn the truck on successfully this time. I was getting frustrated at this point, so I tapped the gas, but I don't get anywhere with it. I look around, searching for answers, and I found out that I forgot something else.
     
    I had put the truck in park again.

    I've always wanted to say that. [/endStandardBlogWelcome]
     
    So, I bought myself a Six-month Premier Membership. So now I can jabber at all of you all I want, and (almost) nobody can stop me! =D
     
    First off, thanks to B6 for poking Dimensioneer until he finally accepted my money, I was very nervous that I messed up all week long. But I didn't seem to mess up, yay! ^^
     
    Secondly, after this current Mafia game I will be making an entry for post-game discussion. I've always kinda missed having something like that. Also on the topic of Mafia, I am still progressing on the epic, albeit super slowly. That is due to my deadlines on my other project, and the fact that the play I wrote was on stage last week, so I spent all of last week directing and acting in that. It went amazingly too! =D
     
    Thirdly, I will tell you about my other project soon. It should be coming up fairly soon, and I want all you BZPer's to be able to try it before anyone else. Hopefully you guys like it!
