  1. Thanks a lot for the feedback! I'll keep that in mind the next time I go way above canister-sized models!

Even though this MOC would be considered quite simplistic in nature compared to the other mechs we've seen the past week, you did a great job with its design. Right off hand I love your use of BIONICLE terminology in the MOC's name.

I design models like how I play Chess. I have an idea of what I want to do, and then throw it away halfway through.  :D

The legs-especially the feet, look very sturdy and seem to give great support to prevent the mech from toppling over from its own weight. Another great feature is the head, which I adore because of its movable lower jaw. But I feel the wings look ugly the way they are bulging out of the shoulders.

By wings, do you mean the Antroz/Nektann blades on the back, or the Antroz wings which I used in the right-hand cannon?

    Still, thanks again!

The Antorz wings. For some reason I thought there were wings attached to the shoulders. I hope I'm not being too critical. Am I?

  2.

Surge. He's never too serious and often put himself into serious trouble.

You mean like Toa Lewa did all the time? :P In all honesty, Surge and Toa Lewa have a lot in common. They're youthful, impulsive, and a little bit reckless. Surge is a bit less of a thrill-seeker than Lewa, and has more emotional turmoil to work through, but they still fill more or less the same niche within their respective teams.

Now that I think about it, I've realised that Surge is just reincarnation Lewa. Their both youthful and wisecracking, and they both have turned bad for a brief amount of time.

  3. I personally am looking forward to a complete edition of that Glatorian battle game from 2009, with all 12 characters, HD graphics and controls that don't suck.

I hope this discussion doesn't go into off-topic, but if there was going to be a remake of Glatorian Arena I think Certavus should be a hidden playable character.

  4. To me it has elements of Ta-Koro, the Nui-Rama minigame from MNOG, and the gloom of the soundtrack from Portal 1. I can feel a vibe of the wonder you feel when exploring Mata Nui in the MNOGs throughout the track, but sometimes the drums in the background seem to interrupt this feeling of awe. I'm not going to be too hard on you, for I find it difficult to make music myself as much as try. Overall, I think you did a pretty decent job on the track.

My thoughts are mixed on the mech's ability to transport Rahkshi on its back. I can't tell if it makes the MOC good, or if it makes it look bad by putting too much weight on its back.

Overall, this is a pretty good MOC. Shame it will be not be entered into the BBC contest.

My theory is that the Bionicle team needed a bigger, better matoran collection to sell in 2004.

Storywise, though, I guess the matoran were just exhausted from the lack of nutrition (they do "eat" kinda).

Hmmm...now that I think about it, the Matoran's shrinkage in size could have been a case of island dwarfism. I suggest you google it if you don't what that is.

That makes sense! it didn't look it up yet, but I guess that's how you adapt to an Island environent when there aren't enough resources, right?

Edit: Looked it up. Island dwarfism happens over generations, which is not possible for the matoran, as there is only one generation.

It does have it's symbolic value, though.

The Makuta evolved into antidermis and they couldn't reproduce. So why can't the Matoran evolve into smaller beings?

Why don't you just release it for free? Then at least your work isn't all gone. I'd hate to see another LOMN...

I don't think they would be allowed to release assets from a game that might have been illegal to produce. Plus, if you want LOMN so bad, why not make your own fanmade tribute to the game? I've seen that done before several times with MNOG and so far LEGO hasn't ceased them.
It wouldn't be authentic, I can only make 2D games
You can always learn how to make 3D games.

Plus, Mata Nui Collectors Edition wasn't authentic ether. It was being made by fans and it wasn't an official LEGO product.

But it was a recreation. I can do something like a point and click denture but not a 3D game. plus it takes a while to learn how to do that

Though it may take a long time to understand, it might be worth it in the long run. Just a suggestion you might want to consider.

  11. But I've never seen it before. It is the only two in my entire collection. You know how a 1:1 has little ridges on both the top and bottom, this one doesn't. It is completely smooth like a 1:1 3mm

I have one somewhere in my collection. I prefer the pins that have replaced them.

  12. Evening, everyone; I represent SM.com, including the creators of the MNOLG: CE which was intended for a release this summer. Here is an official statement on the subject, official in the respect that I've deemed that it's necessary at this point to save our project:

We at SolisMagna.com began work on said product with full awareness of its illegality, and have been previously attempting to avoid discussing said aspect of it. We apologize for any confusion or outrage that the game might have spurned, and plan to cease work on the game and indefinitely cancel its release immediately.

I hate to see a good fan project be ceased from development, but it's better to take the safe route than to be potentially sued by a big corporation like LEGO.
