I got one this morning for $30, though shipping brought it up to $35. I'm working on a MOC right now that I think this would look great on, so I couldn't resist.
-
So are these actual, solid minifigures, or are they electronic things?
-
This started as an attempt to make an entry into BBCC 69, as an attempt to make Kopaka Mata in the 2015 style, but after making it I saw that the Toa Mata weren't allowed. I finally got around to taking pictures today after weeks of letting it sit.

As always, comments and criticism appreciated.

I voted for 10. That Mata Nui is simply beautiful, with excellent use of new Bionicle parts.
-
I wonder if the voting has been pushed back due to unforeseen circumstances and they just haven't had the time to let us know.
It happens to frequently though. Cmon mods...
True, it seems like voting is never posted on time in a BBCC.

I wish the images were slightly bigger so I could get a better look at the overall construction, but from what I can see, I'm quite impressed. The trans-purple looks absolutely splendid; utilizing a color that comes in only a limited number of molds is never easy.
The lower legs look especially interesting; I'd love to be able to see them in a higher resolution.
Thanks. When I first saw the trans-purple pieces, I resolved to make a Toa of Xenon with them. I had been wanting trans-purple for so long before that, so I was quite excited when I saw the Protector of Earth.
Also, I do have higher resolution pictures. Here is the link to all sizes on flickr : https://www.flickr.com/photos/94650439@N05/15980952694/sizes/c/

Should there age-based groups for contests? No. Just because some is older, doesn't make them a good MOCist--I'm 18 and I suck at creating my own things, so I'd probably get stomped by someone of a lesser age but with a lot of skill.
I think there should be skill-based groups, though.
The problem with that idea would be that an excellent MOC that lost in a high-skill group would be considered lower than a poorer MOC that won a low-skill group. Additionally, it would share the problem of age-grouping; namely, it would imply that people in low-skill groups should make no effort to improve themselves. Rewarding mediocrity would provide only mediocre results.

I mean, this was a long time ago, but my first several BBC contest wins were when I was like 15 and 16, and several of the competitors were adults with kids themselves. It was earlier in the community's history, b coulnut still.
I was 15 when I won BBCC 68 last summer, if that has any significance.
Anyway, I disagree with age brackets. More than anything, I think it would patronize younger children by making them think they couldn't match up to adults. Children are not inherently worse than adults at MOCing, and excellent quality does not need years of experience. It is quite possible to go from very poor to excellent in MOCing within the span of one to two years, regardless of one's age.

Add me, spot 3.

I thought they followed the pattern of one in summer, one in fall, and one in late winter/early spring. Though logically, the BFTGM would have taken the place of the fall one.

That pakari looks like it was repeatedly hit in the fact with a stick.

Reminds me of galidor.

I'm going to say yes, then immediately check my nearest luggage line to see if I can steal it.

I do that all day, every day.
TPBM, on the other hand, hates potatoes and wants nothing to do with them.

Granted. Then language becomes obsolete and people start communicating through strange, animal like gestures and sounds.
I wish for a replica of the Alamo to be built in my yard.

What about stranglers? Do they have the same policy?

He looks rather... deranged.

If previous information is correct, members are allowed to post reviews in the "Bionicle Sets" forum. Unless the rule has changed from, a few years ago, I think you still can.
-
I don't see why you would comment negatively on looking at leaked images; it's not like you do any harm by looking at them. Sure, the actual leakers did wrong, but if the information is out there, can you really expect people not to look at it?
-
I also feel that these results used size as too large of a factor. The MOC was awesome, but the general results here are just continuing the misguided trend of bigger=automatically better.
Still, that's not to knock the winner. The MOC was fantastic. Congratulations.

Personally, I don't consider most of the pieces listed to be Bionicle, since they are technic at heart. As for bionicle-exclusive pieces, I would probably say that metru chest armor pieces are the most versatile. As for least, I'd go with most pre-molded limbs.

I vote Burn.

Something tells me it isn't Tyler. I vote for The Otter.
