Descending into Protodermis (128/293)

  1. I said more than half. Mainly because this could very well be the last expansion to the old canon ever. If that's the case, then I would want the most expansion I could get.
  2. Thank you bzp for putting two extremely popular and catchy songs in my head at the same time...at 6:15 in the morning.
  3. Ok, can't wait to see them! And if you need anyone to help you with spriting and I don't know the answer, there are plenty of people around here who can help you out who are way more experienced than me.
  4. Well, what I would do when spriting a mask is I would start near the eyes. Get the shape of the eyes and then try to do some mask edge and mouth regions. When doing the shading, remember how the light effects the other masks. It tends to shine down from the top left from the observer's point of view. The colors, when you use the pallet, the lightest and darkest colors should be used for outlining 9 times out of 10. There are a few exceptions, but they are few and far between and shouldn't be a factor. But most of all, look at the kit up close. Look at little patterns the kit tends to do based on what kind of shape(s) the object has. Once you get familiar with the kit's trends, then copy them where you see fit (no copy and pasting, that never works unless it's a scope. Then be very careful). And the last little bits I can think of are to look at your reference pic constantly and to zoom in and zoom out often. Follow those and your eye for detail, and youout should be good.
  5. Well thanks, man. It's nice to see this topic has had some life to it since I've been gone. However, I don't know how much actual spriting I'll be able to do anymore. I honestly wish I could right now, but I'm kind of busy all the time now. Come summer I might, or someone else might, but as of right now, I'm probably not going to be able to do anything as far as spriting goes. And are those prototype masks? I forgot about those.
  6. No. I'm getting it regularly. It seems to go in and out - was able to access it a few hours ago, but not now. Well hopefully that means they're fixing it.
  7. Am I the only one that is just getting a blank screen when I click the link?
  8. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5453568 Look there and if you can't find any, try looking through some of BS01's files. Or my files, I don't remember what I even have anymore.
  9. Thanks! I use MNOLG assets when I can, but I try to make whatever image in my head come on the screen as much as I can, and sometimes, MNOLG just doesn't offer that. So I end up having to make my own objects. The scene where Nixie is looking down at Kai from the telescope is a prime example. The ridge of the platform is completely original.
  10. Hey, Ahkmou made a statue of Takua in that image, didn't he?
  11. In America, you report on BIONICLE. In Soviet Russia, BIONICLE reports on you... But, this is cool. I'm glad to see BIONICLE is becoming a global phenomenon again.
  12. ...Really? I think they look better than every head we got in Bionicle's first run, except maybe the original Mata heads. They don't have any weird angley blocky shapes like the other heads and generally just seem nice and smooth. I like them. The inika heads were nice and smooth too, but were generally hated. XP
  13. The point of this is purely to build hype, and to remind folks that a big announcement is on the way. There's no point in revealing any more at this stage when NYCC is only two days away—it would only serve to undercut Lego's panel.Ya know, I'm not complaining, but Lego really doesn't need .ro build hype. Its like pouring gasoline on the great furnace.
  14. Hey, not to too my own horn, but could this moc be kind of what you have in mind for the racers? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=532763
  15. Comic 1 released! (Posting from my phone right now, so that's why the link doesn't look nice) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=547598 Comic 2 will just come out when it comes out. October is gonna be CRAZY for me. Comments and criticism welcome on this doh. Sorry it took so long.
