  1. The six Toa/Masters and the Lord of Skull Spiders are available at Walmart.com. The locations in the greater Cumberland County, NC area are showing an estimated Free Pickup date of December 19.
  2. They really need a female voice actress for Gali. And Pohatu sounded like Katy Brand's NSFW caricature of HRH the Queen.
  3. IC: Zealot "This development is as much a testament to your effort as to your piety, sibling. We should all learn from your example. "Would the three of you care to view the progress of the chapel sometime?"
  4. Arriving at the village square, Zealot bowed low to the presiding Makuta, then listened to the results. Upon hearing the winners declared, Zealot lifted his staff slightly in salute to Exxan and his team. As the small horde of rahkshi zoomed over the causeway, Zealot brooded calmly. I shall have to pay more attention to the announcements, to find ways of proving myself worthy to our dark fathers. Nevertheless, I shall not neglect my work on the chapel. He couldn't help but notice a few of the participants were starting to fly erratically. Something seemed... not quite right. Then, as everyone arrived back at the academy, the convulsions and retching began. What was going on? Had Mata Nui's masked vermin slipped some manner of light into the armors of those rahkshi as revenge for the desecration? No, they couldn't have organized a counterstrike so quickly. But still, something was wrong. Zealot approached one of the afflicted, a chain-lightning rahkshi. Just as he was about to call for the infirmary, all three ceased their fits, and slowly rose. Zealot could somehow sense a change in them, as though they had become... more powerful. They had achieved the third stage. Zealot stepped back and lowered his head, raising his staff higher this time. Then he turned to his fellow rahkshi: "Hail our brothers, the first of our intelligent kind to achieve the Third Stage of Power! Hail!"
  5. IC: Zealot The rahkshi's head perks up, briefly. "Did you hear something? I thought I heard Great Tridax's voice..." He sees a Turahk of some notability leaving the infirmary and heading toward the causeway. "Ah, the Desecration of Naming Day... Makuta smite me justly, I forgot all about it!" Zealot gets up from the table and starts to the exit. "Well, sibling Hoto? Do you not wish to at least witness the conclusion?"
  6. IC: Zealot "Merely offering my thanks and self-rededication to the mighty Makuta, may they shade us forever."
  7. IC: Zealot "Greetings, sibling," the black-and-red rahkshi replied politely between mouthfuls, "I am called Zealot."
  8. IC: Zealot Entering the refectory, Zealot took a bowl from the available stack, then stepped over to the serving trough to receive his meal-ration. Finding a table, he took a seat and begin canting: "I thank the Makuta, creators of all rahkshi, for their generosity and the gifts they bequeath to me. May this provision nourish this humble spawn, that he might continue to serve their will. Praise be to all Makuta." Having spoke his invocation, he then proceeded to calmly slurp down his gruel. OOC: open for interaction
  9. Another character: NAME: Zealot VARIATION: Darkness LEVEL: 2 GENDER: Masculine... barely GEAR: A staff with a thick bludgeon at one end (like a mace, but staff-length); a set of ritual daggers; a chain he wears around his neck bearing a replica of the Brotherhood of Makuta's insignia, carved from polished obsidian (or the protodermic equivalent); a stole lined with Brotherhood symbols draped over his shoulders (like what Turaga wear in the movies, only darker-looking). PERSONALITY: Utterly devoted to serving the will of the Makuta, whom he practically worships. It just makes sense to him: rahkshi are spawned by Makuta, who are each more powerful than even a squad of rahkshi. He looks down on any rahkshi whose devotion does not equal his own (which is to say, all of them), but would crawl out of his armor and into the deadly sun if a Makuta demanded it. BIO: From the moment the kraata who would later be called Zealot came into existence, he wondered about his origins. Discovering that he was created by a Makuta to serve their will provided him with all the answers he needed. He knew his calling immediately: to follow these beings and spread their gospel of shadow throughout the known universe. Upon arriving at the Corpus Rahkshi, he was disappointed to find his fellow rakhshi lacking in veneration for their fathers/mothers. But all would be well; they just needed to be shown the way. Since then, Zealot (a name given to him by his fellow rahkshi, but which he embraced wholeheartedly) has taken to encouraging a more proper devotion to the Makuta through discussion, the occasional speech, and the development of social activities meant to focus the rahkshi's collective mindset towards their service to their masters. In the deepest level of the campus to which he has proper access, he has begun the construction of a shrine to the Makuta, with sculptures of the various members of that species in their respective preferred forms lining the walls, and Great Teridax, Makuta Primaris, resplendent in his Kanohi Kraakan, looking down on his children from behind the altar. “Praise be to the Makuta, by their will shall we triumph!” (Note: he's not intended as an observation on religion in general, just a form of the “Priest of an evil god” archetype from various fantasy stories)
  10. OOC: Sorry about not replying; had an early job assignment this morning, then took all afternoon catching up on chores and internet. IC: Cravex Go on, thought Cravex, Stroll off as though you aren't a Rahkshi of Fear. I know exactly what you are, deep inside. And one day, I'll show everyone who looks up to you. OOC: Cravex available for interaction
  11. IC: Cravex "Looking for a little light reading?" A dark-red turahk stepped out of a shadowed corner. "Hmm... A Detailed Treatise on the Mechanics of Rahkshi Anatomy... concerned about your inner workings, Rider?"
  12. NAME: Cravex VARIATION: Fear/Turahk LEVEL: 2 GENDER: Masculine GEAR: A set of twin-bladed daggers (would use the same piece as Pohatu Nuva's climbing claws); a collapsible staff, to which one of his daggers can be attached. APPEARANCE: Slimmer than the average rahkshi, but not flimsy-looking—more of a wiry sort of slim. His head, spine, and extremities, while still recognizably Turahk-colored, are a deeper shade of red than average (post-2004 red). PERSONALITY: Cravex is a bully, through and through. Reluctant to get his own claws dirty when unnecessary, he prefers to intimidate others into doing the hard work for him. An unsuspecting (and usually younger) rahkshi will be wandering through some corridor when Cravex will step out of a shadow, using his daggers and his nascent fear powers to intimidate his victim into submission. Naturally, like all bullies, Cravex is a coward at heart. He uses his skills and powers at intimidation to keep others down as a means of hiding his own fears and insecurities, even from himself—ESPECIALLY from himself. While he is capable of interacting amicably with his classmates (and will be superficially quite pleasant to those he considers an even match or a genuine threat), deep down Cravex has nothing resembling bonds of friendship with anyone. Anyone he doesn't treat as prey or a foe is a pawn to be used as soon as he can determine and exploit their weaknesses. BIO: Upon arriving at the Corpus Rahkshi, Cravex initially stuck to the shadows, observing his new rivals and training his abilities. After he had gained modicums of both experience and seniority, he immediately began to target the weakest of the subsequent newcomers, pressing them into his personal service. After a while, he had built a modest network of spies and thieves, and was putting them to work to increase his power base. “It would be such a shame if, suppose, some misfortune were to befall you...”
  13. Is it weird that I'm going to miss the pseudo-high-tech/schizo-tech style of Metru Nui? In any case, I can be comforted by the fact that the "Legend" video implies that Okoto is the site of a semi-fallen civilization (with the ruins and whatnot) in the wake of the "Mask of Ultimate Power" incident.
  14. Story section's back. Nothing new on the page, but it's back.
  15. While CGI has become a bit of a tradition for Lego TV series and stand-alone specials proper (Ninjago, Chima, Lego Star Wars), the art style of the animation is starting to grow on me. The character designs have a bit of a Transformers Animated quality to them, which I also grew to like after watching that series. If they wanted something more than animated micro-episodes for their website, I'd recommend cleaning up the designs just a bit, and increasing the framerate to smooth out the animation. But I would watch something like this. And I think that by "online show" I would presume we're talking about something like Hulu or Netflix. We can all agree that Lego probably wouldn't devote their server space/bandwidth to a full-length TV series (they don't keep full episodes of Ninjago or Legends of Chima on their website).
  16. I hope this is simply a web animation series like the first few years of Classic Bionicle and the online games then. That level of animation, with only one actor voicing all the characters, feels like it falls short of what modern audiences would expect of a TV series.
  17. lolwut? Hang on, I'm going to get a book of matches and some audio recording equipment. Come on! a bit of imagination! When you start a gas kitchen, the fire makes a similar sound. No, but it reminds me of water in some wa i cannot explain... I can explain it. It's because you know the characters and their elemental affiliations, and probably have for a while. Because of that, you're naturally going to associate their names with their elements. But to anyone else, the names won't mean anything. "Tahu" won't be the literally hotheaded team leader, Kopaka won't be the icy loner, Gali won't be the master of the waves. Those are really only associations you can make after learning about the characters. Also, gas stoves sound more like "click click click fump" to me. Well, I hear tahu instea of fump. My ears are bionicleized after all those years... Well, I suppose that "Lewa" has a nice, woody sound to it. Goooooooooooone...
  18. (I apologize for this...) Heeeeeeeeey, fancy Legos, Oop, oop, oop, oop, O-ko-to-verse style!
  19. So do we know what the "civilians" (i.e. the equivalent of G1 Matoran) will be called this time?
  20. Am I the only one who looks at the skull spiders and thinks The Legend of Zelda?
