    Exactly. You're free to express your opinion, I'm free to disagree. Not trying to say that you ought to like the same things I do.

     

    As an artist, I just have had an incredibly hard time drawing generic female robot characters based on the old hero templates. I had a much easier time with this new face template, since it's fairly androgynous, and not quite as creepy/inhuman as the Glatorian head with its angular jawline and huge nostrils.

     

    I accepted your opinion. It was a joke.

    The Lego Movie

    I just got back from seeing the super-special-week-early-showing of The Lego Movie at the HOP at Dartmouth College (where, I recently learned, the two directors graduated from).

    Basically, it was awesome.

    I'm going to put the following in a spoiler even though it's not very spoiler-y:

     

    Basically, it was a Meta Alchemist Toy Story Matrix movie.

    But I'm sure you all will be thrilled to hear:

    There WAS a Bionicle reference in it, about a fifth of the way through the movie.

     

    I managed to get a free Lego Movie poster and activity book. Can it get any more awesome?

    Does anyone know how lame hero factory is, well I do. I mean take a look at the story behind it: We are robots who fight evil, oh no new and more powerful evil has come, let's make ourselves bigger but not much more powerful to fight the evil! We got him, oh no more evil, hey this time let's have an animal theme. Even though hero factory is Lego I still find it to be a total Bionicle revamp (and a bad one at that). So I will not purposely go out and buy a Hero factory. I've gotten some as gifts but that was before I had this opinion of hero factory!

    New LEGO Mixels Pictures Revealed

    Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I only figured that out by looking at the advertisement image with the story, and that is colored. Maybe they just hadn't done it for some reason on those bags. It seems really redundant though to show that this guy belongs to the red group if their package is already red.

    Oh, you are right. Now I missed it in the catalogue scan. :P If it did indeed represent the tribes, though, then where are the Cragster?-Gata signoff.png

     

    I assumed they were the orange ones, but then I saw the orange guy. They must be the purple. It's the only color we haven't seen yet (shame).

     

    I'd rather expect there to be purple Mixels in a future wave than the purple to represent the Cragsters. I mean, that doesn't even make sense.

    Favorite BIONICLE Song?

    Instrumental Version of Bye Bye Babylon. I'm not a big fan of any of the "song-songs" of Bionicle, as they tend to be negative. BBB had kick-tail lyrics, but it went a little overboard. Most "touching" lyrics: Closer to the Truth.

     

    As for themes, the MoL trailer theme is still a favorite of mine.

    What about Gravity Hurts? It has some of the most uplifting lyrics of any of the BIONICLE songs, I think. Even Closer to the Truth, while touching and emotional, is more eerie than anything, what with its chorus:

     

    Loneliness

    Eating me inside

    It's burning me alive

    I'm traveling in my mind

    And flying through a thousand lonely souls that cry

    In swamps of evil lies

    We're closer to the truth

    Take me home

     

    Sends shivers up my spine, honestly. The main verses are just as foreboding. It's hardly what I'd call "positive", unless you meant that in a very different sense than I'm thinking.
