  1. My excitement for my sets to arrive knows no limits.

Still trying to decide whether or not I'll open my Transparent Tahu Mask and have my Tahu set wear it... hrm.

I dont know man, Ive seen pictures and Im probably gonna keep both my NYCC Packaging and the VIP Packaging Tahu Mask both in their cases, bc I dont see any reason to open it and put it on both of my Tahus. Plus they look really cool in the packaging and I saw a couple of pictures of Tahu with his Transparent Mask and to me it looks ehh.

  2. Well, I bought Tahu, Kopaka, Onua and the POJ from Lego.com today. :) If you couldn't tell, I'm very excited. And also impatient. :D

    Amazing sets! :D

I had them for a while and Im still excited!!

Though I know kinda wish I bought a couple and left the rest so I can purchase them later in the first quarter of the year. Cause now I have to wait till August for any new Bionicle sets.. Still I might buy a couple duplicates just to have a couple in their original packaging.

  3. I dont know I got an eskimo vibe from Kopaka when I first got him. The golden HF paws on his shoulders reminded me of like something eskimo hunters would wear in the cold environment and the spear is also a weapon used by the hunters and idk it just reminded me of that. Not so much a Spartan soldier. I also can understand your Tahu idea. But everything else really doesnt make sense with me. Maybe Ill examine my figures a bit more. But Idk cool ideas :)

  4. LOL I love YouTube! But heres the thing, comments like those are really just a small side of YouTube. At least in the Xbox and Playstation community, I always see positivity among all types of fans.

    Did anyone believe me?

But as many have said, its really just the trolling that goes along. But to be honest, I havent really seen many negative comments on YouTube about Bionicle to the point were I had to make a post on BZP for someone to explain why this is so. Then again, I dont really watch the Bionicle community on YouTube other than like 3 YouTubers, so that can explain why I dont see much hate towards Bionicle on YouTube.

  5.

Found all the sets at the Overland Park Lego Store! (Except for Tahu and Gali)

Nice one bro! Did you manage to purchase any?

WOOOT!!! Went to Toys R Us today and found all the Protectors, LoSS, and Kopaka!

    Buuuut....Target didn't have any sets. ;(

As well as you? Did you buy any?

I bought every set they had.

Nice one! :D haha Which is your favorite?

  6. For the new Kopaka set, I replaced the huge shoulders and chest for smaller, non-gold, parts. I also replaced all other gold parts (using parts from the PoI), as well as just using the two parts of the shield as blades and putting one in each hand.

Nice one! I was thinking of doing that long before the sets were released and all we had was pictures of the sets. White and gold reminded me too much of Takanuva, but now with the set in-hand, im actually loving this Kopaka a lot more than I thought I would! :D

  7. My Toys R Us isn't. When I was able to get Onua, I got him at 19.99$ plus tax.

Same here, except I ordered online and they'll be here either tomorrow or the day after, that is unless UPS doesn't deliver on New Years Day, which I think might be the case.

Did you manage to buy 'em when the Toys R Us site had them up to buy for a very short period of time?

Edit: Funny enough, the only set on the Toys R Us site is Onua, and you can buy him right now, and pick him up at the store for free.

No no I didnt order them I actually went in to a store and bought them like they are on the shelf.

So TRU is giving sets price jacks? Whyyy?

They do that often for certain sets, and not for others. The Mixels were marked up by around 49 cents, while the Legends of Chima legend beasts were sold at their default $9.99 price.

However, if you wait until the sets are officially released elsewhere, Toys 'R' Us has a Price Match Guarantee that lets you get sets from them at many of their competitors' prices, even ones that don't have a store in your area. They even price-match LEGO.com!

Aw man, I wish I knew that sooner! Oh well next time, thanks for the heads up! :D

Let's just get everything resolved really quick here. You don't like the new building system? Go to G1 Bionicle topics and stop going on and on and on and on about how much you dislike the new system, one time is fine but consistently saying your opinion over and over and denouncing others isn't going to get you anywhere. As for G2 fans, please ignore posts that you find offensive so they don't drag out into an argument over something as silly as building system preferences. Gen-one only fans stay in your topics, and G2 "crusaders" stay in yours. Also "crusaders", please don't harass the gen-oners and if they continue on, just ignore them. You know, like how you sometimes ignore the few old people who pessimistically complain about EVERYTHING and can't enjoy ANYTHING. Thank you for your time friends.

Gen-oners? I prefer to call them geewunners. Also, not all of us are "G2 crusaders".

Ok Ok I'm going. Enjoy your skeleball, I'm going back to where I'm happy.

I like that term, it makes me thing of Bohrok remakes using CCBS...which will probably never happen, but I can dream.

Eh....I'd rephrase the first bit if I were you before an admin stops by. This exact same argument happened a few pages back with the same people, and Windrider specifically said that it was against the rules to tell people they shouldn't belong on certain forums for their opinions.

In certain scenarios that makes sense, but in this particular one where both sides are unable to have a civilized and respectful discussion about their opinions the quickest resolution is for the perpetrators to go where they won't harass others about having a different one, no matter which side they're on. Normally I'd be against that very notion, but this situation requires a "time-out" for anyone not willing to coexist with another persons opinion. This goes for both sides. It's always nice to have critical and objecting opinions, but not in a disrespectful and unfriendly manner.

BOTH sides are unable to be civil and respectful? You didn't see my post, I assume.

Do Gali and Onua even exist, or are they just figments of our imagination? Targets across the nation don't seem to be stocking them. I'll look for LOSS today, and if I don't find him, then I'll order him, Gali, and Onua off of Amazon. Good thing I've got Prime!

Yeah it seems that Gali and Onua havent appear in Target stores. Luckily I was able to find them in a Toys R Us, sadly the TRU prices suck. I had to buy Onua for 22.99 and Gali and LOSS for 17.99, like what?!

Also Im a fan of both G1 AND G2. :P

I NEVER change my sets. I like to keep it official and I have to keep from flipping out whenever someone mentions taking their sets apart and using them to MOC or modding them. I know it shouldn't matter to me what other people do, but for some reason it really just irks me. Like, it crawls under my skin and I want to run over to wherever the person is and change their set back to how the instructions had it. Maybe I have aspergers? XD

I DO have Asperger's/ASD, but I am not against MOCing with or modding my sets by any means. After all, that's a big part of what they're designed for.

The only time modded sets ever really bug me is when a person doesn't realize they've modded a set — for instance, when a set reviewer has a certain part of the set built incorrectly and thus judges it according to how they built it rather than how it's intended to be built.

And of course, there are some times when somebody mods a set in a way that doesn't make any sense to me and possibly ruins one of the things I liked about the set in the first place. But that kind of personal preference applies to ANY kind of design — there are times when I can't even fathom why an official set is built a certain way, when it seems like there's another way that it would have made much more sense.

Same with me. I occasionally modify my sets, but only in small, subtle ways that don't mess with the original design too much.

It wasn't until about 5 years ago that I really started MOCing, and it just opened up a whole new realm of options for me. :)

Agreed! I usually do the same however I always end up reverting them back to normal in a weeks time.

My parents brought these from Toys 'R' Us:

    hni_0025.jpg

They said the Three Kings might bring more, hinting at Gali.

Ooooh! Kopaka's pretty... cool... heh... that was terrible. XD

    LOL !

    Sick bro! :D

Onua and Kopaka are great sets, also LOSS. ALL OF THE BIO 2015 SETS ARE AWESOME! :D

I hate being in the UK... It's freezing, I've lost my gloves, and I have to wait a whole two days for Bionicle :(

    :P

Better than February! I heard from a friend over in the UK that the release date would be that date.  :o

  11.

The link doesnt work for me :(

    Anyone else?

"http://www.lego.com/en-us/club/member/building-instructions/details/tahu-fa3fa53404284937bc287a9c8a05bd1a' " it appears that this was the original link but for some reason it now appears removed?

I get the same, it doesn't matter if I'm logged in or not.

Yeah I was hoping to see that combi model! Those powerups are cool and all, but they didnt reach my expectations considering that we got amazing sets!

  12. Anyone know if NJ has the sets yet? I plan on getting them in the next week or two.

They should be out in a week or too. Check the Jersey Garden mall, they'll be there at the Lego Store by next week. Also the Toys R Us near IKEA. :)

CCBS is great, and though I can see the negatives of some parts, its positives outweigh them. When I look at these new sets, they feel like Bionicle and not HF, and that's super important and great. Perhaps the system isn't perfect yet, but it's developing. Compare these new awesome sets to the original 2.0 hero's which were super plain and made simply to introduce the system; it's always developing and making new useful parts to get better. If anything, it's a more developed and good version of the inika build, which was also simple. I feel around that point Lego realized that they wanted a simpler and more centralized build system for constraction.

In terms of the gold on the sets: I'm actually not a huge fan of it and wish that it was replace with other colors that fit the bigger toa's color schemes better. The gold can be pretty overpowering and doesn't fit super well with some of the toa, like especially Kopaka. Tahu is the only one where it works very well and doesn't need to be changed in my eyes (plus it would make sense since he's the team leader).

Pohatu, now that I own him, I can say is sadly pretty lackluster in comparison to the others. Even Lewa and Gali have extra great appeals to them, but Pohatu feels over-simple and not as special in my eyes. This is mostly caused by how short he is next to the others and how open his top is; they should've added something interesting there in my opinion. But I actually like his color scheme a lot more than I thought I would!

I agree with everything you said especially the Pohatu part. I feel that he really isnt worth the 15 dollar price point.

  13.

Nice one bro! :D Which set is your favorite?

Of the Toa, I feel like Tahu has the most to him. Protector of Jungle is probably my favorite of that group. I ended up being pleasantly surprised by the LoSS too.

Cool!  Lol I've grown tired of my Tahu ever since having him since October. But now that I have all of the Toa together, I feel that Tahu and Onua stand out to me as favorites. The Protector of Jungle is pretty cool too, hes my favorite from that group as well. Lord of Skull Spiders is ehh to me atleast. But it does remind me of the '01 Rahi sorta so thats cool too! :D

Woah man take it easy. :P

Idk I personally like to see other peoples modifications and such because I mean, thats the point of Lego, isnt it? To use your imagination?

  15. Nice one bro! :D Which set is your favorite?

I wish there was a way to get a bunch of Skull Spiders cheaply. They look so good as a swarm.

Sweet. It's amazing seeing them all lined up together.

  16. I'm not big on adding the gold to the other sets.  Pohatu's primary color matches the gold too well in my eyes, and it just sort of blends in.  Lewa's gold might work if not for the keetorange, which is more vibrant than the gold and makes the gold seem kind of dull.  And I think Gali works perfectly without the gold, since her color scheme is rather dark and muted, giving it an "under water" look.  Maybe if the gold were integrated more it'd look better, because Kopaka and Tahu and even Onua have gold chest pieces/printing/stickers that help tie them together more.

Yeah I guess I can see your point. I just did it like that for a while, Ive now revered them back to normal. Im having lots of fun with these sets :D

  17. Will any of you guys give any of the 15 dollar Toa any Golden Armor like this? I think they look much more unified. Not saying theres anything wrong about the sets, because I think the sets look great! I just kinda wanted to see the other 3 Toa (Lewa, Gali, Pohatu) have Golden Armor along with their Gold Masks like the other 3 Toa (Tahu, Kopaka, Onua).

Here are a couple of pictures I was able to take of some of the 2015 Toa and the Protectors. You can see that I modified Lewa, Gali, and Pohatu to have Golden Armor like the rest of the other 3 Toa. I just hated how weird it looked when a Toa with no Golden Armor wore their Golden Mask and are standing right next to a Toa with Golden Armor and Mask. It just looked a little weird to me. So I was able to fix this by giving them some Golden Armor I got from NYCC and I personally like the results as they look much more unified. Not saying that they didn't before, because without this modification they still all looked amazing! The Protectors were good too except for the Protector of Ice, Fire and Water (to me atleast). I added elbows to the Protector of Ice and Fire and made the Protector of Fire slightly taller by giving him longer legs. I then tweaked the Protector of Water a little bit by giving her armor on her arms where the turbines used to be. I then made a little backpack I guess for her turbines and I think they look better this way since she no has armor on her arms aswell. These are just my personal preferences and tweaks on these new Bionicle 2015 sets and I dont plan on making anymore since these sets are so good!!

Oh yeah I'll probably do something for Lord of Skull Spiders later on haha.

  19.

Question for everybody who own the sets. How stiff are your gears? I have Lewa and Tahu, and both have rather loose gears. They tend to fall back down due to gravity, though only if their arms are directly perpendicular to their bodies. Tahu's I can forgive, since he only has two friction gears holding up two heavy swords. Lewa's I do not understand, considering he has FOUR friction gears. His arms were fine, at first, but now they can barely hold a pose that is dnynamic.

My gears are actually quite stiff. I actually have trouble turning the gears at times, due to how stiff they are.

I have really stiff gears as well. However my Comic Con Tahu has less stiff gears than the new one I bought and Im sure it could be due to me always playing around with it.
