Whether Greg is the main writer of Bionicle 2015 or not, he will find some way to sneak Vezon into it. Mark my words...

How would a "storyline consultant" have enough influence to get a character from a long-forgotten pet-project serial into a multi-million dollar high-stakes toyline reboot?

Maybe they want to honor the past writer for all of his work and include his favorite character in the new Bionicle for a split second. Maybe he can make a cameo in the short animated movies by making us see a silver figure coming out from a portal and exiting through another in the background of a scenery. Or maybe in the books, a Toa character can hear a noise behind some trees/bushes/rocks/etc. and get a quick glimpse of a silver figure before he disappears through a portal. And all that Toa would do is acknowledge it really quick and go pack to his/her main objective (find a gold mask, get through skull spiders, or simply just keep on walking..) and it would be a nice treat for the fans and the past writer of the books.

What would i like to see happen? those six adorable little hunchbacks we called turaga, and new rahi other than skull spiders

Sorry, pal. They said there were going to be no more characters from the old universe other than the Toa and Makuta.

We can still see the "elder" type characters in the new Bionicle; and according to the panel, the Protectors serve as the "elders" in Okoto. On the Rahi thing, I hope they are still even called "Rahi" and would love to see new types of them for the new Bionicle.

I would like to the see the Matoran that made up the Toa Inika and Mahri come back.

However from what I know Im pretty sure they mentioned that past characters wont be returning for Gen 2, apart from the Toa and Makuta. So if this is true, there is a possibility we will get new Toa characters that we've never seen before if they even decide to make a new Toa group, because by the looks of things it seems like the Toa will be the main protagonists in the 3 year story arc that is planned. Beyond that, I have no idea.

I know you were at NYCC and I wasn't, but from everything I heard, didn't they say that they had no plans to bring anybody else back, rather than actually planning to not bring anyone else back?

I looked back at BZP's video of the panel and found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTv5VVGYguU#t=1881 .

In there they explained how they have no plans of launching sets of the past. However they will get some inspiration from those past sets.

  5. Gali's Skull Spider seems to be blue and silver.

Thats possibly due to the rendering of the set. I remember at the VIP event, there were no two toned Skull Spider masks. Just three different ones: Limeish Yellow, Dark Blue, and Silver. Now LOSS does come with a Gold Skull Spider Mask so that makes the total count 4.

But to answer your question, it'd be awesome to see two toned Skull Spider masks. I also want to see some Red, Black and Brown Skull Spider masks so that they can sorta match with the Toa and Protectors (I also just wanna see some different colors than just three standard ones).

  6. I would love for those kinds of books to return. Though I don't think the ones that you mentioned (and the Dark Hunters book) sold that well when they were released. I could be wrong on that. (Someone correct me if I am) And as you said, Lego probably wants to try to keep the story simple at least in its first year. So if they did release a book like this, I would think it would be in the story's second or third year.

Oh I didnt know that they didnt sell well. Usually when I went to my local B&N I could barley find them. But anyways I just hope that we get books like these but obviously much simpler. Just so we can learn more about this new universe as I think those books did a good job at that.

  7. Do you guys think that we will get anymore books for this new Bionicle? Similar to the style of the Bionicle: Metru Nui - City of Legends, Bionicle: Rahi Beats, Bionicle: World:, etc. ? I thought these types of books brought an amazing insight to the world of Bionicle and I would hate for this new universe to go unexplored and just be an island divided into six sections, each with a specific environment, where they just serve as locations for battles the Toa have (I know the Temple of Time is there). Although I doubt Lego would try to start off with building a huge and complicated universe in its first year, I just hope that we see something similar to those books, but in a much simplified form.

  8. Ah yes. Another classic debate on the credibility of TTV. This is what I call quality entertainment.

Anyway, they did say that they were going to do an updated version later on, however I do agree that they should have waited a wee bit longer.

I myself have not seen any examples of TTV being rushed in their actions other than this. And even this is over something as minor as the gearbox build.

In other words, I believe that they did commit an unreasonable move here, however it's not as bad as you are making it out to be.

Exactly what I think. I think that their video here, gives an example of how the set will somewhat look like. And looking at their video, it made me reinforce my choice of getting Lewa first out of the 6 Toa. Just simply from watching the video and trying to keep the tradition of getting a green canister set first, out of the whole batch of 6. Of course I will only get Lewa first, if I don't get all 6 Toa in one single purchase.

    Hordika Matau :D

I keep the Hordika team close to my heart.

Me too, I remember getting Nuju and Matau Hordika for my birthday then giving my older brother Matau cause that was his favorite. :3

Cool bro! I remember for me it was either get Hordika Matau or a Toa Metru Two Pack with Nuju and Matau. But I went with Hordika.

  10. I can agree with all that was said above about the Metru Nui - City of Legends book. It has tons of cool information about the entire city and I recommend it. It was my first Bionicle book btw and im still proud it has the stickers lol.

Journey of Takanuva, I cant speak for since I don't have it. But from what I remember I did see a bunch of pretty neat artwork in it.

Rahi Beasts is also a really good read. It has many canon Rahi that I've never even seen before (up until I actually read the book).

  11.

As I'm reading this I'm glancing at my Mata Nui set and snickering.

Star Soldier. It DOES kind of make sense.

    Does yours look any different?

The only main difference is the mask your set came with. The eyes seem too wide I think. Idk it just looks funky. The eye part on the official set is much more narrow, but anyways I think this set holds up. And If I had seen it at your house, I probably wouldve thought it was just some slightly modified Glatorian Legend Mata Nui. :)

  12. Do you guys think that stores might start clearancing Hero Factory sets for the holiday season to make space for the new Bionicles?

Awh man I sure hope this does happen! If I see any discounts Lego constraction figures using CCBS, ill sure as heck by the whole self. For the sole purpose of getting new pieces to build mocs of old Bionicle characters but recreated in CCBS! :D

    OMG I cant wait!

  13.

I don't like how half the toa are semi-titans and half are regular. It makes team line-ups look silly and makes the team unbalanced.

Actually, it makes team line-ups look AWESOME. A range of sizes makes each member of a line-up look distinct and makes the group as a whole look more interesting.

    Great example right here.

Yeah I am in agreement with Lyichir here. As when I saw the Toa standing near each other at Comic Con and in the LEgo Store at the VIP event, they all looked awesome and each one of them seemed unique. I for one am glad this new Bionicle hasn't started out with clone sets (something that got too old, very quick in the last generation of Bionicle).

  14. Ok thats cool and if u guys havn't seen it already but TTV has a Tahu Master of Fire review from when he went to NYCC. same reason ur bro has some of lewas parts they got a half hour to build AND keep what they got so he made tahu with help from the Design team for the new sets and almost all of Gali and Onua.

    I helped them! :D

But yeah I too managed to make a Tahu Master of Fire as well. I also got a hold of many of the new parts that are going to be used in next years release. Tahu is awesome btw.

For anyone planning on spending large quantities of dollars on a clear Hau, see this first: http://www.bzpower.com/board/blog/7/entry-130933-just-to-be-clear/

I suspect these will become easier to acquire over the next few months. I would also guess that the number 1500 only refers to the number given out at NYCC, not the number that were made.

    -Letagi

I think on Flickr Deevee mentioned that he suspected that only 800 of the masks were given out at NYCC (200 per day), 100 at the VIP thing, and the rest pictured here. Of course, this probably will make them easier to obtain.

The VIP ones included a different packaging and a different number (1 of 100) that seemed to be separated  from the NYCC number (1 of 1500).

This is my own picture by the way. :P

  16. If anyone is disappointed that we wont be seeing classic mask powers, I just want to let you guys know that there is a possibility of them coming back.
LEGO did say that they wanted to respect the roots. And I believe they did just that with these new sets and their designs. Besides, just because the Toa don't have their mask powers from Gen 1, does not mean that we won't see them in the future of the storyline, whenever LEGO needs to upgrade the sets. Powers of Shielding, Speed, Strength, X-Ray, etc. could come back when these Toa receive an upgrade to their armor next year.
I mean if the Toa now all of a sudden were to have all their mask powers and maxed out abilities for the first year, there isn't much room for improvement (storywise) when the sets get upgraded for next year. Im sure no one wants next years upgrade to just be "improved armor".
