And yea it is pretty interesting, I never understood why that was the case, they were not officially released here as per this statement "The Bohrok-Kal were not officially released in Australia, but the Australian department store chain Big W shipped them in around the end of 2003."

     

    Yeah, that's correct; but also, they were "leaked out" into certain stores around the top of Queensland as well. That's according to some very old pre-2011 downtime posts which my older brother remembered reading.

     

    Wow that's very interesting I hadn't heard that part of it before! Were these at larger stores like Kmart and Target?

    Yeah, but after a short while no more stock came, probably because they realized it as a mistake. 

     

    It's also nice to know of someone else who lives in NSW on this site. :bigeek:

    It certainly could happen! I still have all the Knights Kingdom constraction figures from 2006, I think they are pretty cool, but didnt utilize BIONICLE parts so they weren't as exciting to me.

    Now Nexo Knights constraction figures would be amazing, I'd love to see that happen!

    I live in NSW and the person I'm buying from is from Sydney so she must have been a big BIONICLE fan to have known to purchase the Bohrok-Kal at Big-W.

    That's pretty interesting, I never knew they didn't ship to Australia. As for whether them being complete or not, only the seller and you will know (although often when I buy lots of parts they are listed as "as is" implying they don't know if they're complete or not)

     

    If they turn out incomplete, ordering the replacement parts off bricklink will be cheap, and shipping shouldn't be much either. Small / thin parts can be shipped via lettermail.

    Hi BST,

     

    I was searching on Gumtree today for BIONICLE as you do, and came across this gem http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-view-details.html?adId=1103869856

     

    The reason this is a gem find for me is because I rarely ever see Bohrok-Kal up for sale in Australia, it is extremely rare to find them and this is because they were not commercially available in Australia, I still don't understand why, however the Kal were shipped to Big W near the end of 2003 as the only release that they had here and I was obviously too young to even had known this when they were out.

     

    Now I already have Defilak but I offered to buy just Dekar and Kohrak-Kal. Haven't got a response yet but I will wait and see.

     

    I'm posting this here because I wanted to ask if you guys think these are complete sets, or just spare parts?

     

    I did message her and ask when I offered but I will have to see on the response. So fingers crossed on that.
