  1. IC "I am a Toa. A defender of this great island" Xerrand moved closer to the Chivinix, but still maintaining a distance that would not frighten the creature. "Chivinix. Is that what you call yourself? "What help does the Chivinix need?" OOC Sorry, I wrote my last post late last night and accidentally called my Toa Tharros. Tharros is my fire Toa, currently in Onu Koro. This is Xerrand
  2. IC Xerrand smiled, "Koro. It's our word for City, or village. Ta Koro is the village of fire. Ko Koro is the city of ice. I believe that was the white place you travelled most recently. " Tharros stood still as the Chivinix studied his mask. "Masks are a symbol of the Great Spirit. They remind us of him. On matoran, they are only symbols. But for the Toa, the warriors (like me) can use the masks for abilities. Powers. You can fly naturally? There is a mask that allows Toa to fly without wings. The mask I wear allows me to teleport; I can cross great distances without having to travel. "
  3. IC Veneras nodded back to the guards as he passed through the glorious gates. He couldn't help but look up, following their icy walls stretching high up the cliff side. Such beauty. He couldn't believe he had been away for so long. Entering into the city he was surprised at the thriving metropolis before him. He left just after the death of Nuju. Back then the Koro was primarily ecclesiastical. Monastic even. But now? Now it was one of the most glorious city-states he had ever seen. The entire city shimmered in the moonlight, the snowy streets reflecting the stars above. He needed to go home. He needed to light his pipe, pour a glass of scotch, and lay back in his chair. He needed to feel at home. But he couldn't go home yet. He needed to report; it was standard procedure. Relying heavily on his staff for support he made his way to the barracks. He hoped that the captain was in. But who was the captain? He'd been away for so long, he didn't even know who the Captain was. It didn't matter. He needed to speak with the captain. He knocked on the door and announced himself "Toa Veneras reporting. I need to speak with the Captain of the Guard."
  4. IC Xerrand smiled at the quizzical insectoid. He smiled with such charm, such charisma. He had a way about him that conveyed his most inner thoughts and feelings. Xerrand was an idealist; he had a genuine care for every being he met or came into contact with. He smiled at the Chivinix, raising his hands as he did as to convey to the creature that he meant no harm, only companionship. A friendly soul with which to find company. "Hello," he said smoothly "for such a magnificent creature, you look out of place. Is this your first time in Ta Koro?"
  5. IC Tharros took a large swig of beer, smiling as he did so. He empied it enough to that he could slams the stein down against the bar without spilling more than a drop. "That is fine brew, good artisan" he said to the bartender. He then turned to his new companion. He looked so dignified nursing his port. "So my friend, tell me more about yourself. I would very much like to hear more about your travels. If we are going to be allies, I would very much like to be more familiar with your character."
  6. IC Tharros followed Grochi into the tavern. It was a quant little pub. The perfect place to relax from a long day. Grochi began to approach the bar, and Tharros sat beside him. He had high hopes for this night. He hoped to strengthen his bond with this elderly warrior. Placing both arms on the bar, he smiled, "I'll have a stein of beer, an whatever this man desires" he said to the bartender, putting his hand heartily onto Grochi's shoulder. The bartender was a bit preoccupied with another order, but he acknowledged Tharros' request all the same.
  7. IC It was over. The white Vortixx was gone. Veneras lifted his head to examine the damage done to the mines. It was extensive. But the chase was over. Veneras looked around. He didn't see the Vortixx assassin anywhere. He assumed he had gone in search of his ally. He hoped. As he looked to his right and saw his staff lying dormant. He pressed hard against the ground until he rested on his knees. He started crawling toward his staff and he tried to reach for it. However this put an unexpected amount of pressure on his left arm and he collapsed once more. Without the adrenaline of war he now felt the full repercussions of this battle. Reaching for the staff with his wounded arm, he stabbed on end into the ground and pulled himself to his feed. They were sore from running and his whole body felt stiff. He looked back to the path that brought him here and he started the long trek back. Back to his place of mediation. Everything seemed so different now. After meditating here for so many years, he couldn't go back. What was the point of understanding Justice if you didn't see it done? but if not understood, Justice can lead to great and merciless destruction Veneras remembered. He remembered... So much evil and injustice. Unrighteousness. Foolishness... Hatred... Death. DEATH Veneras had been in mourning. His brother fell because he had failed to make a righteous decision. He chose Justice at mercy's expense. But the most haunting death had been kept at bay. But the memories were always there. Pressing. Fighting. Veneras lifted his staff with both hands to shatter the ice that blocked the elevator. It was then that the thoughts could no longer be kept at bay. If he would not remember he would be reminded. For as drew his staff back to strike, his heart commanded his hands to halt, jerking him out of denial. His hand. His hand bore the memory of the one dearest him. The life most precious. The death most painful. His hand. As he lowered his scepter his eyes were ever drawn to that memory. And the memory that bound his eyes held them relentlessly, and pulled them until the succumb. He couldn't succumb. But he would succumb. A single tear was drawn painfully and was painfully dragged from his sad eyes down his mask, and there it froze. It froze solid on his mask, serving as his mark; a mark of his pain. He swallowed hard. The pain of his body and the sorrow of his hear pulled him once more to his knees, for he had succumb. In one day he had succeeded to achieve what years of meditation had failed: he wept. The tears of the ice Toa dropped hopelessly to the ground and lay there for moment before freezing, adding to the shimmering reflection that marked his sadness. He he knelt there weeping, his voice trembled. One single word was drawn from his lips as he knelt in his despair "Sophia" He tried with all of his composure to sustain his pain but he was not strong enough. He had never been strong enough. From his knees he took his staff and thrust it into the ice. Then, crawling into the elevator he began his ascent. - Upon reaching the surface, he was greeted busy the starlight night. The moon reflected brightly off the ever white snow. He looked around for a while to get his bearings before spotting the great fortress. Ko Koro My home Veneras trudged through the snow, favoring his arm as he went. The snow slowed him down dramatically, but it had been so long since he'd even seen snow! he was more than pleased with this obstacle. He finally made his way to the gate; it was clear from thee looks they gave him the city was under lockdown and Veneras had no doubts as to why. Approaching the guards, he worked up all the energy he could. He stood tall, staff in his left hand as he solute with his right. "Veneras of the Sanctum Guard" He announced, "I have come home."
  8. Edit: taken down.
  9. IC Xerrand Thunder Rumbled in the skies above Ta Koro. The skies of the mangai volcano were always covered in smoke, making it impossible to discern thunderclouds from any other day; but the thunder was a pretty good indicator. The insectoid Chivinix noticed a Toa of lightning approaching, though he seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. "Beautiful isnt it?" Without waiting for a response the Toa followed "Thunder? It always makes me feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be: home."
  10. IC Tharros responded heartily "Then lead the way my friend! I much desire a good drink. The first round is on me"
  11. With whom does one inquire about the Ta Koro guard??
  12. IC Tharros chuckled. "I'm afraid I didn't know that my friend. I've always just stuck with beer, plain and simple." Tharros continued walking alongside the ussal, "I just figured a classy gentleman like yourself would prefer a classier drink than beer." After walking a bit he asked "So what pub is it we're headed to, exactly?"
  13. IC Tarian returned a smile towards the grateful Toa. It gave him satisfaction knowing that his services had proven useful. It warmed his heart. warm Suddenly he was reminded just how cold it was in the shadow if Mt Ihu. Tarian knew it was time to return home. OOC Tarian to Ta Wahi
  14. IC Tarian got the sense he wasn't welcome. "If you have no further need of me, I suppose if best get back to ats Koro" Tarian started to leave, looking back at his shoulder at the mysterious Toa. He had just spent hours to save his life and yet knew absolutely nothing about him.
  15. Wait, kughii you did the dasaka art??
  16. I would think so! Unless their deities are different in name only, their mask aesthetics would be distinct. Maybe not dramatically, but even so
  17. Wow, that was crazy... Roll over... Try not to cry
  18. IC Veneras brand himself. His Kanohi Hau would take the blunt of the damage, but what of his new ally? What of Vierath. Holding his hand up to sheild his eyes from the light, he tried to make out any survivors.
  19. Ooc the auto hit of your foot was a response to the auto hit when you kicked me in the chest. All I said was making contact did ice damage. Now, I know this is similar to my irrelevant post, but I worked so hard on it, I had to recycle some. IC Veneras had barely enough time to activate his mask before the tunnel shook with the impact of the Zamor sphere. Even so, he was knocked to the ground and found himself drifting in consciousness. He pulled himself to his knees, and looked up. Surprised to see that Veirath was still alive, he noted that the white Vortixx seemed to be taking him prisoner. Veneras struggled to his feet, his ears ringing as he ran "wait!" He called out. He was faced with a choice: the preservation of of the Just. Suddenly, his mind lapsed ~~ Veneras remembered why he came to these tunnels to meditate. He had made a mistake. Veneras had always been drawn to the preservation if Justice, but this mistake... It had cost the life of one closest to him. Balance, he thought. True righteousness is balance The balance of Justice and Mercy. That's why he was here. He'd made a mistake. Chosen Justice over Mercy. Chosen against life... The life of his brother. ~~ Drifting back into reality, called out into the darkness "Wait!" Mercy he thought to himself once more. "I'd like to negotiate his release"
  20. IC "Well come on then, lead the way!" Staying behind to address Grochi, he queried, "so, whiskey or scotch?"
  21. OOC, the armor was part of my origional character profile. I didn't make that up now. It was kept frozen by his essence, not his energies (a philosophical distinction). He would need to be directing his elemental energy since the cold was simply part of him. If that is too off this site's definition of Toa, I can take it off. Plus, the frozen leg didn't seem to be acknowledged so as far as we're concerned it didn't happen; no need to be worried there. IC Running past the Vortixx who had recently become preoccupied with an oncoming Veirath, Veneras spun his staff into battle position. Edit: I've taken off any "questionable" content.
  22. IC Tharros cringed, taking a deep breath from his cigar to calm his nerves he looked at the newcomer. There was a fine line between a warrior's heart and bloodlust. And in his heart, that same fine line ran between respect and disgust. Finally he he smiled a devilish grin, slit his hand and grabbed that of the newcomer. Little did they know the blood of a Ta-Toa burns hot with passion. The newcomer would feel his "life-blood". He took another breath from his cigar before responding "I am always glad to find those willing to fight." Turning back to the one he now considered his friend he returned, "So, how 'bout that pub?"
  23. IC Veneras slid to a halt, and held his hands up. He looked directly into the eyes of the white Vortixx, "Veirath, get behind me". Waited staring directly into those eyes, those glowing eyes shining in the dark. Veirath spoke out, he asked the Vortixx for answers. "Veirath!" He repeated, "get behind me!" He thought long and hard about the Vortixx's question: why shouldn't she fire? Finally Veneras gave his answer, "I am here to preserve truth and Justice. If you oppose these virtues I will not beg for mercy. However, if these are virtues you share we would do well to converse." Veneras responded. "Besides" he continued, "that wound you have there?" He said, gesturing to her leg, still frozen solid "You'll need a Ko-Toa to remove that ice if you don't want lasting damage."
  24. Ic Tharros crossed his arms and smiled, "We are always welcoming to any with a warriors heart." He responded, "We are on our way to a local tavern, if you'll join us?" Tharros wasn't willing to drop the tavern. He hadn't had a proper drink since arriving to this island and the idea sounded better with every passing second. Taking his cigar out of his mouth he followed "That is, if you're ready for war"
