  1. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's noticed Pohatu's new attitude adjustment. He acts similarly to gen 1 Kopaka.

I see why they made this tweak, to make the infamous brown color the "cool and serious" character. I personally don't mind it, but I truly miss the happy, enthusiastic Pohatu. Perhaps that Pohatu belongs in gen 1.

    What do you guys think?

  2. It really bothers me that the protectors don't have official names. It makes a lot of sense that they should be named after the Turaga (Vakama, Nuju, etc.).

However, this may be inappropriate because they fight alongside the Toa, making them seem more like Tohunga than anything else.

I hope we learn more about the race of the protectors, it would make things easier.

    What does everyone else think?

  3. Sets, lore, and fan base.

I don't think I really need to go in detail as to why I voted those three, the answers are pretty obvious!

However, I chose to not pick the story and atmosphere because after 2005, I really didn't enjoy how the story was executed. The atmosphere and story went hand in hand 2006 and on, and I suppose it lost its mystical touch for me. That may be from the flop ending to the big secret, but otherwise, I can't quite put my finger on it.

  4. Any of these

Gali and Kopaka were my favorite Toa in '01, and yet the Le-Koro quest was the one in which I was the most emotionally invested, mainly due to my overwhelming affection for Taipu :P

Taipu is adorable, in full meaning of the word. If you don't take him to Le-Koro he just sits and pouts at the rock.

Anyway, the first image that captured me was that of Tahu in 2001. He sat at the front of my local Toys R Us, and I picked him up and popped in the mini-CD.

    Ahh... the memories.

  5. Wow, that's really stern. I'm not sure how well LEGO keeps to street date, but the other toylines that I collect are usually out by Black Friday. It sucks that LEGO are adament about keeping this to New Years, but i'm hoping some retailer just goes ahead and releases them early. Yes, it's selfish, but I want my BIONICLE toys, dang it!

    Totally!

I don't care about this detail or reason why they can't be released early. I just want my sets!

  6. Pigsty and Tahu.

    EDIT: Pohatu. Autocorrect

Ha, it really seems like Pohatu is a lot of people's favorite! His new mask is killer.

My least favorite is gali. I think her weapon throws me off for some reason, as well as her mask. Still like her, but from the images I've seen I have less appeal for her.

  7. I'd pay for this.

Heck, if Lego wanted to make some money from it I'd be game. They could even set up for consoles, maybe with a slightly more complex campaign with difficulty selection.

Diablo has a PVP area, and that's be pretty cool to see.

If they added a few perks with the same style as MNOG, it'd be killer.

Don't get me wrong, MNOG had great depth for what it was, but it'd just increase the experience in a positive way with a little more depth.

  8. Would you like to see a point and click Okotoverse game similar to MNOG?

If so, how would you want it to be similar/different?

Would you like to have the art similar to the NYCC video or another approach?

Personally I'd like to see the main character be a customizable one, with a view similar to that of MNOG II.

  9. As of yet, all story details come from the legend animation, bios on lego.com/bionicle, and comments from the team.

As such, you havn't really missed much, other than that the protectors are the leaders of their villages, and the toa's masks are elemental.

Regarding the elemental masks, we know for sure there's no shielding/levitation, etc.?
  10. I've been trying to keep updated on story news, but I can't find much other than the NYCC video. Can someone send me a link.

It's not fitting in I'm worried about. It's my parents. I know they don't like Bionicle and only bought me the sets because it made me happy. They don't understand that this is more than just a simple toy line for me. It's special, but I know that they want me to start thinking of my future. When am I going to move out? Will I ever find a girlfriend? How is this setting a good example for my younger siblings?

I just.... I don't want my parents to say "Oh look, there goes our 22 year old son who wastes his money on toys..."

Or "Oh, your son just built a new engine? My son just dropped fifteen bucks on a Toa Gali set!"

I want to make them proud. They do so much for me, you know?

Hey man, I'm 19 and I work construction and I'm having a son! My parents are proud of me, but I still look at bionicle stuff in my downtime. Nothing wrong with it man. Just follow what matters to you. Theres not much time in this world so appreciate the little joy that bionicle brings.

  11. Ekimu also has the Mask of Creation, which would help him with making his masks better. That's probably why the matoran liked his masks better.

But like I've said, I'm really liking Makuta's plot arc a lot better than his old one. I feel like I'm being shown rather than told why he's doing what he's doing, and he's more of a character than just flat-out bad guy. This is why I'm so happy; because it seems like we were really listened to and like Lego really cares about making this great. There's actual heart to this story, something that HF lacked.

Agreed 100%. Like you were saying about Makuta, I always felt like a lot of main villains in the original story were just simply bad. We never really saw much progression from normal to evil as a main focus, and it's really great to see that come together (hopefully).

  12. I wouldn't count on it, and I wouldn't want to see it. I wouldn't think the sets would be good, and I don't want to have to go and eat at that awful place just to get sets (and I don't want to have to bother myself with ebay either).

You could purchase just the toys without buying food.

  13. Yes definitely! That would be amazing if they did that kind of thing again at Mcdonalds

I would want it to be something like the Mctoran, maybe just a set of six villagers (not sure if they remain being called Matoran in 2015) from Okoto which just feature a collectable mask or some special exclusive part in each of them or something like that

I think it's protectors or defenders. One of the two.

Personally I'd like to see something a bit smaller than the official Protectors to differentiate them. That is, if it could be done right.

The McToran had perfect height vs Turaga and Toa, so something along those lines.

  14. Takanuva.

I feel like he was pretty much a big hyped up character with little climax. Sure, he did some behind-the-scenes important stuff, but he just never took off for me like I imagined he should have back in 2003.

Honestly though, I wish with everything in me he would've stayed Takua, the Chronicler. It's like when he became Takanuva, his entire personality changed. He was pretty much an ADD Tohunga that liked to travel. He just never had it together, and he's the only character like that in the story. I grew attached to him as Takua, mostly because of MNOG and the other flash animations.

Then that was shot to when he became the Toa of Light.

He didn't even really fit in with the rest of the Toa Mata!

  15. Would you like to see build-able Bionicle sets, like the McToran, return to McDonald's or otherwise?

I thought this would be a good move to fit in the inhabitants of Okoto.

If you would like to see these again, how would you want it done? How should it be done if it were to happen?

  16. True to real life. He's like a body builder that has a deep side, and you can occasionally catch him reading philosophical books at night... or in a dark cave.

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that joke today...

    :P

All the Gali jokes that surfaced today were pretty great too.

    -NotS

    I haven't heard those yet!
