IC Shade: "That's good to know. While we're waiting for Mr. Makuro to finish his interview I might as well ask, how have you been? You're looking quite upgraded since the last time I saw you."

IC Shade - Arriving at Makuro's Dropship: Shade reached his destination only to be met by Nex, one of the few heroes Shade knew and knew knew him. "Nothing much," Shade smiled as he replied to the Alpha Team hero's question, "just guard duty. Hopefully I'll get to kill something." It looked like he was going to end up on a team after all. At least the other team member understood Shade's difficulties with team work though.

IC Shade - en route to Dropship: Shade was excited at the realization that Mr. Makuro's safety was Shade's and only Shade's sole responsibility. He'd figured that Vex, Striker, or someone else would double with him on this job, but instead it seemed that Shade was allowed to stay a solo act. As he rushed out the door following the correct path towards the dropship, he had a sudden thought: "What's up with Zib and 20 minute deadlines anyway?"

OOC: ZippyWharrgarbl is correct. From T. Pecs' profile: "Though he lost the fight with Thumper, he held his own, and he reasoned, if he can hold his own against Thumper, he can hold his own against any Hero."

OOC: Not just yet. That's Mission #3. I have to set it up IC. OOC: All right. Shade will have to use standard Hero transportation this mission then.

IC Shade - Briefing Room: Shade rubbed his hands together excitedly while thinking, "I get to guard Mr. Makuro himself and, much more interestingly, I won't have to economize my energy usage this run. This is going to be fun!" Out loud he said, "So when do we start?" OOC: There was some talk about ship profiles a while back. Are we allowed to create one yet?

OOC: No, that's clearly artistic license. Civilians were playing the Heroes in that production, so they had to make up for the size difference in creative ways. I'd say the true ratio is that Jaw Beast is about standard Hero size, with Splitter Beast (combined form) and Queen Beast about 2X Hero size. OOC: Excellent. Good to know that no one's day is going to be ruined by being instantly swallowed whole.

OOC: Is the hero to monster size ratio the same as seen in the "video stage production made by some moron from Talos V?"

IC Shade - Meeting Room: Shade laughed, "As if my behavior in here indicates my skill or professionalism in the field. The reason I don't know you is because I don't know anyone. I met Alpha team way back, but those are the only heroes I've ever met. My life is a secluded and lonely one, which is why I throw seriousness out the door when I have company." The laughter dying and his face suddenly deadpan, Shade said "It is good to know your name, Striker, and I look forward to being on the same mission with you." This wasn't entirely true; as much as he enjoyed talking to other bots, Shade knew that team playing wasn't his strong suit and might get in the way once the mission was going full swing.

OOC: I was under the same impression as ZippyWharrgarbl regarding Hero Factory and food. IC Shade - Meeting Room: Realizing that heroes probably didn't have as wide a selection of variety as an assassin might regarding what food they could choose to eat at mealtime, Shade quickly made to cover his tracks: "What, I can't make up a silly-sounding name to call you by?" Turning to Striker with a grin, Shade said, "If you don't answer my previous question, I'll be forced to make one for you too."

IC Shade - Meeting Room: How could a hero not care about his own name? Shade decided to put that to the test: "All right then, Marshmallow. Do you know anything about the mission Zib's supposed to brief us on?"

I'm going to hold off a verdict, and pose the question to the other players: do you think these temperature ranges are better? OOC: I have no further objections. These ranges are still on the high end, but if they go too much lower than the heat won't exactly be useful against other mechanical beings. If played correctly, I think this character is a fair one.

IC Shade - Briefing Room: "Pleased to meet you. Do I call you by your first name, last name, both, or do you have a preferred nickname?" Shade swiveled his head towards Striker. "You clearly heard my introduction, but I'm afraid you have the advantage here. What might your name be?" Shade didn't like being treated like second-grade material, but these heroes didn't know him as a person and barely knew what his capabilities/functions were like in the field so he let it slide. Besides, the assassin's secretive existence left him with a want for some rare social time.

IC Shade - West Wing Briefing Room: Shade considered the question before flicking on his blades' quaza link to make the blades glow a faint red. After waiting a few seconds for the effect to sink in, he turned his chameleon field on hiding him from sight. "You can call me Shade. Who are you?" he asked before turning off the quaza link and chameleon generator.

OOC: No. He has invisibility, silencing, mega-cutting though stuff, and quaza bursts. The only reason I even allowed it was the huge power drain you put in, which would mean that he wouldn't spend that long in the field compared to the other Heroes. OOC: Aye, he's fine as-is. I hope there will be a recharging station handy next mission...

Please use IC for in-character interactions. No, I think that would be too OP for him. Earlier post edited with IC. Roger that. OOC: Could I get away with giving him just night-vision?

IC - Hero Factory Complex: Shade was glad to finally flex his limbs. He did a quick check to make sure his chameleon and sound dampening fields were in full working order as well as his quaza link and blade folding mechanism before heading out the door. Despite Zib's warning, he couldn't resist turning invisible to knock down a few piles of paper, some cups, and a civilian worker on the way to the conference room. OOC: Could I add a thermo-scanner/night-vision scope to Shade? He would use it to see at night and track his targets through walls.

Approved. OOC: This seems a little overpowered. I don't see any problems with Nimius's heat resistance, but titanium has a melting point of 1668°C, gold has a melting point of 1,064°C, and steel has a melting point of 1350°C.There is definitely potential for god-modding with Nimius's scorching capabilities. (Platinum has a melting point of 1,768°C.)

Ic Shade - Secret Storage: Confinement had Shade's spirits down. The evacuation news had ended for what seemed ages ago. He was used to running around making harmless unseen mischief, not a four walled hologram watching station with a high speed hero charger for when he was running low. He knew he'd told himself he wouldn't do it, that he'd wait it out, but he was desperate to stretch his legs which was why he reached for his communicator: "Zib, this is Shade. I'm soooo sorry for stealing your password and I'll make sure this never happens again. Could you pleaeaeaease let me out? I promise I'll be so good, you won't even notice me."

IC Shade - HF Secret Storage: Shade wandered back and forth inside Secret Storage. As much as he hated to admit it, it was his fault he was in there. “I only wanted to see what all the activity at Tranquis VII was about,” the hero brooded "so what if I stole Zib’s password out from behind his back to do it?” Next time he would be more careful. The only thing to do in storage was flip through the channels on a screen embedded in the wall which was boring. At least, it was boring until he flipped to a media channel covering the evacuation of the entire civilian population of Tranquis VII. The footage had been taken hours before, but it was still interesting nonetheless.

Approved, but I'll be watching the powers' use. He should be able to cut though less stuff with the blades' quaza off, I would think, but I'd be fine either way. OOC: He can't cut through nearly as much with his blades' quaza supply off. I've edited the profile to make that clear.

OOC: Submitted for approval. Hero Profile: Name: Robert Shade Powers and Abilities: Shade is equipped with a high energy drain chameleon unit that renders him virtually invisible. He combines this with his sound dampening generator for minimum sight and sound disruptions while he’s in the field. Weapons: Shade makes use of two foldable raw quaza-embedded arm-blades that are linked directly to his battery. They can sear their way through most materials and are capable of short ranged quaza blasts. Shade has the choice to turn the blades’ quaza link on or off depending on how low his battery is running. Turning the quaza off saves the hero on energy, but causes the blades to lose their palpable cutting capability. Bio: Shade was made as an assassin model for high priority targets that are too dangerous for a prison cell or the attempt of capturing. His high energy cost weapons and tools cause him to have very poor energy efficiency and when running at maximum he usually has to recharge every few hours. Personality: Shade doesn't like surprises which is why he is constantly thinking of every possible situation that could confront him on a job. He prefers working alone and while he likes the company that a team lends him, he doesn't know how to work as or with a team (he is the “I” in team). He has a condition common amongst assassins that causes him to have an unsanctioned thirst for knowledge. He is always looking for a way into top-secret places and files that he has no place in. Assassins with this condition are often kept in stasis once caught. Appearance: He has a dark purple core and head. The top of his head is white while the rest of him is black encased in pearl dark-gray armor (also known as titanium gray). Height: 6.7 ft. Weight: 480 lbs. MOC Picture: Location: Hero Factory Facility in Makuhero City Secret Storage Robert Shade makes a star appearance in Rylinth Anderfel’s A True Hero (Rylinth wants me to say that it’s not particularly good, but that’s just his opinion).
