About Me

Yo, my name is Padraic.

So, yeah, where to start? I guess Bionicle is a good place to start. So, I've been into Bionicle from about 2003, when I was about 5 years old. In fact, one of my earliest memories is watching the 2003 online Bohrok-Kal animations on dial-up internet. While I love the sets very much, it's the mythos of Bionicle I love the most. My favourite year is probably either 2004 or 2008 for lore and story reasons, however my favourite year for sets and the like is definitely 2001-2002. I'm quite impartial to Pohatu and all of the Toa Metru, all being my favorite characters.

I used to have an account on Bzpower, but I went away for a month and forgot my password. I wasn't anyone special so it doesn't really matter.

At the moment, I'm in the process of buying all the Bionicle Novels.

Anyway, I also really love a bunch of other stuff:

Three things that have truly impacted my life are Cowboy Bebop, 20th Century Boys and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Being in love with art, symbolism and music when I began each of the series, both animated masterpieces truly impacted me, and I'm sure I wouldn't be who I am today without either of them.

I'm also a big fan of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and if you ever want to chat about that, hit me up, it's an awesome series that everyone needs to watch.

Obviously I like video games. My favourite series being Ace Attorney, Zero Escape, Final Fantasy and Dark Souls/Bloodborne and I consider myself quite the aficionado when it comes to them all. Aside from these games, I don't play very much else.

Something else that I am completely enamoured with is the late 60's-early 70's, mostly because of the music and fashion of that time. :3

Throughout my life, I have been surrounded immensely by 3 things: Music, Art and Literature.

Music has been an important part of my life since the moment I was born. My parents and grandparents are very musically oriented and I've been surrounded by a multitude of genres throughout my life. I can play the Tenor Sax and at the moment I'm learning to play the Acoustic guitar.

My Musical tastes are influenced mostly by my parents and grandparents and, of course, from my own searching.

My favourite genres are:

Jazz.
Blues.
Folk.
Anything basically rock from 60-70's
Alt. Rock.

& plenty others.

As for art, I've always wanted to be an artist for my life. I've been told I'm quite good, but we'll see if I'm brave enough to post any of my work. My favourite Artists are probably Yoshitaka Amano, Shintaro Kago and Jamie Hewlett.

I also absolutely love literature and reading. I'm not particularly good at creative writing, but I'm great at writing essays and analytical pieces.

Some of my favourite books/Short stories:

The Count of Monte Cristo.
The Three Musketeers.( I'm a bit of a Dumas fan, hehe)
Anything H.P Lovecraft.
A Shadow on the Glass.
Bridge of Birds.
20th Century Boys (Manga)

I also read a lot of musician/band Biographies too.

So, yeah. As you can probably see I'm a Jack of All Trades. Unfortunately, as it goes, I am a master of none. Taking that into account, I plan to go and study Fine Arts and Literature in university. I might start up a band to live out my musician daydreams, haha.
